I dont know what to think but I will tell you this:
If this is what Boots has said is true, it would be very, very sad that a person could lie about this (not saying that I am attacking anyone).
But however, if what Boots has said is not true and Strider is really in pain right now, some of you that agreed with him [Boots] are showing what you really think about Strider, which is not too bright. And lets assume he is really hurt, when he comes back, would he like to be one whos credibility is challenged even when he, himself gets hurt?
Therefore, I have no opinion whatsoever until solid evidence has been discovered.

Funny thing is this...
A month or two ago, strider left the chatroom (#civfanatics) because CivGeneral was banned "unfairly" for a few days (no one seems to care when I get banned......) and he said he wouldn't come back until everything war righted.
Except no one ever "righted" the situation...he never came back to the chatroom.
Until the time of his injury when "Doe" came into the room to tell everyone something bad has happened etc etc...
Now he's going to be in the hospital for 3-5 weeks? After everything was lookin relatively okay?
I think he will use that 3-5 weeks to make everyone in the chatroom (no offense to you posters) to forget that he ever left in the first place.
And if he really is 16 (who knows?) get a freakin job and work.
That is all.

Well, would do call people WF, and CT? Also, would she know about VS1? In fact, would she understand the forum at all? I assume a succession game might confuse her.
Now, I'm not trying to be paranoid, but it seems odd. If Strider did post that, then it is suspicious for two reasons:
1. It didn't take very long for him to get in the accident, and Doe find out, and then get into the chat room.
2. She lied about who posted that.
Keep in mind, this just seems odd to me, I do give Strider the benfit of the doubt.

at another forum I post at, years ago, one of the posters faked his own death, under similar circumstances as this....
if this is indeed a fake, I still feel bad for Strider because someone must be very sick and lonely inside to manipulate people's emotions in such a way for attention.
I certainly felt heartfelt sympathies and said a prayer for Strider, now I am skeptical. This is a sh*tty situation, and I am sorry for being skeptical.

BTW, if Doe said she posted this, it does not make sense to me because she seems way too involved in it (keep in mind she said in the chatroom that she had never been to CFC before).
If Doe is Strider, (put yourself in his shoes) and he were asked the question whether he posted it or not, he would feel under pressure because he would know that his credibility is being questioned, so it is easy for him to say yes.
This is only speculation.

For all those posting about time-zone differences: I don't think time zone makes any difference since all time is shown as relative to whatever time zone you have set. For instance, if someone from Greenwich England were to post at 12:00 AM Saturday it'd appear to me at 6:00 PM Friday and would be dated 6:00 PM Friday since they're actually the same time (save maybe a fraction of a second slower/faster due to England rotating at a slightly faster-slower speed)-just from different places on the globe. Therefore Bootstoots location in a state with strange time zone rules wouldn't make any difference.
Still, I hope that what Strider's GF said was true, mostly because trying to imagine someone who could fake his own accident for attention is too terrible to think about.

As has been said, this is a bit of a quandry. Do I hope for a sick and troubled peerson, or a potentially disfiguring accident. I don't know Strider well, but I will just say that whatever the situation, I hope that Strider receives whatever help he needs, and that he emerges from this healthy, in whatever way that is.
To all of you, I would like to say that you have all solidified my feeling that we here at CFC are a community. In the first stages, the tremendous outpouring of support, and now the loads of indignance. If you didn't care about each other, then noo one would care if it was an accident, or a twisted joke, they would just say "let's get back to gaming". As another poster has said, the amount of attention this thread has received is staggering in just a few days.
At any rate, I'm glad to be a part of this community.

That would sound possible except that Chieftess's timeline shows that Doe came into the chatroom and relayed the "news" only seven minutes after the SG forum post, not to mention the fact that Doe stated that she posted it herself, when she (supposedly) had no knowledge of CFC events.

Why hasn't there been an update since some of the accusations surfaced? 
Seems to me that we still want to know his current condition, regardless if some folks believe the story or not.
How is he doing now? And do any members live in St. Louis that could visit him, or even send flowers from all of us?
Why hasn't his g/f entered the thread to tell off those people that have doubts? I know I would if it was the one I loved fighting for their life.

Maybe there hasn't been an update because he realises that he's been uncovered, or maybe not.
Maybe his g/f's seen the condeming comments and decided that we don't really care and that we don't deserve to be updated, or maybe not.
