Alright, your patience has payed off.
A New Dawn Beta11 is here!
I would like to think that it is bug free, but I'm sure a few days of testing will prove me wrong.
At the very least, it's very very close to bug free. And very close to an official release.
A Few New Features in Beta11:
- New Forest Green Interface. I really like it, but YMMV.
- New Ruthless AI. They kicked my butt.
- Three of Dancing Hoskuld Modmod's got added.
Lots of bug fixes too, see the OP for the full list.
Enjoy.![]()
I won't. Everything on that list will be checked off before a final release.I have been checking your "To Do List" every day sicne you have posted it and this is quite helpful to know what you are working on and have finished. Also please do not forget/push the "Misc Buildings" to next update.
It seems I can install the new Better ROM resources and the Better ROM Artwork separately, but once I install them both together I get a CTD when starting a custom game.
Have there been any major changes made to the AI from 1.53 to 1.6 ?
The reason i'm asking is i've played two games so far in 1.6, one in beta10 and one in beta11, and in both cases approx 150-200 turns into the game, out of 12-18 civilizations i am the only to have 5+ cities, most having 2-3 and quite a few still with just their capitol.
AI was set to Noble in one game and Prince in the other. I find this odd since the AI usually was pretty decent at grabbing land.
Checked this out in worldbuilder, some AI's had two, or three new city spots planned right next to their home cities but would not settle, having gathered a somewhat impressive force in their one city, some even just had a settler a warrior and a worker. (after almost 200 turns, seems odd)
Also another oddity, whenever i enable the "variable difficulty" option, after starting the game my fps in the normal view drops to very low levels (about 5 or so, very choppy). Starting an identical game without that option results in no issues. ( which is a shame since it sounded like a lot of fun)
Hey where are the Misc Buildings?![]()
Are you sure it isn't something else? Can you test on another computer? I've gotten no problems with these.
All I know is that I loaded beta 11 one item at a time using the custom installation. By themselves the two did not give me the CTD. But once I installed both of them I did. And I installed it 3 times and got the same result all 3 times. And from the other posts it seems as though I am not the only one experiencing CTD's with beta 11.

MPLog.log's, in the Documents/My Games/Beyond The Sword/Logs folder. Make sure you turn on logging with the Civ4.ini
Also, Resource Depletion and Warriors of God seem to cause OOS issues, try playing without them.
I was scared out of installing these new modmods at the bottom of the list because they have no description text. So please add description texts for these three the next time you careate a installer.
I'm talking about Warriors of God, Better RoM Art, and the other Better RoM thing.
Thank you!Good News: I manually updated to BUG 4.3 myself ( I didn't want to wait a week plus for RevDCM), and it looks like the screen lag has disappeared. I had a late game going with 10 civs, and there wasn't any noticeable lag.
I'll see if I can't correct a few bugs and get a beta12 out tomorrow or Monday.
Easy to change. In the Afforess_GameOptionInfos.xml, set bVisible to true for Inquisitions. Then enable them when you want them. You can still play Inquisitions without revolutions, just not the other way around.![]()
As I said, I want revolutions but not inquisitions. It looks like I am stuck with beta10 or have to go back to 1.55![]()
I'm with The Dancer here. Not in the choice of mods to use, but the principle. AND is about choice as much as content, so I really don't understand the logic behind this restriction. Why not just let us choose Revolutions and/or Inquisitions independently from each other in the Custom game setup?
