Not something I have encountered (or noted anyway).

Playing as Darius at King level.

Napoleon warned me to not get too friendly with Monaco (CS) as didn't want to tread on toes- normal message.

Only thing was I had had nothing to do with Monaco for some time- simply because Askia had conquered it quite a few turns before.

Another "huh" moment.

I, too, have noticed several bugs related to Conquered City States - I've seen them make peace with other civs/city states several turns after they've been conquered. I suspect that part of this is related to the fact that the game need to track influence in the event that the CS is liberated.

"needs to". Really? Wouldn't it make a lot more sense if the influence slate were wiped clean when a CS was conquered, and started fresh when it got liberated?

I have seen that and I also have seen a CS I liberated say it was an ally of a country that was already destroyed.

Absolutely. If their "ally" couldn't help keep the CS alive, then they didn't deserve the influence they had in the first place. I've also wondered why there wasn't a proximity modifier to bribe rates. Why would a CS ally itself to a far away civilization when that alliance would likely get them conquered?

If your neighbor is the mongols, you ally any civ you can get.

I've noticed something similar too !

When Harun Al RAschid DOWed an american civ that I had already completely conquered. :D

I took a screen shot of it ( and blasted my game by the same occasion )

notice on the map that there is no more deep blue from the american civ, and that at the right of the screen we can see the tipical icon of a DOW between civs
