AAranda's mods for 2.8 (some of them)

I am not quite sure what you are asking. I have not finished converting these. I can't do any language other than English. If you can provide a translation for some of these then please do. If you do it in the xxx_GameText.XML files and post it here then I will merge them into the uploads. I stopped making gametext files for all the religions to speed getting them out before real life meant that I would have to stop.
 
thanks for the answer. i would not want that one more language has been added. to add 1 more language and to make transfer simply if is xxx_gametext.xml. whether i wanted these will specify in all religions xxx_gametext.xml, and that in some it is and in some is not present. and so all works for me also this good.

also it is how much difficult to transform buildings and miracles from aaranda under 2.8? and that from version 2.71 is not started...

Some of the stuff in the buildings was merged into RoM 2.8, in particular the national wonder movie python code. My extra movies merges the actual movies from that pack also. It just takes time and the inclination. I keep hoping AAranda will get his computer and start modding again.
 
Updated first post with a list of known issues with the religions I have already released. Some of the fixes will require a folder name change so will require you to delete the existing folder when you install the new.
 
Just reuploaded all the religions. Hopefully I have fixed all those little pink squares that appear when you mouse over a stack (promotions are pink square) or city (buildings are pink square). Please report any that I missed. Future fixes should be save game compatible.

You do not have to upgrade to these if the pink squares don't bother you.

The upgrade is not save game compatible. You will need to delete the Custom Religion folder from the AAranda folder in Modules. The space in the name of the directory was part of the cause of the problem so I had to change all the directory references inside the XML and there went the save games.
 
Did the units pack. Could not get the Ram to work. Removed the sea animals because they are now in Afforess' Sea Monster mod.

this leaves the various cultural units (Story teller, bard and celibrity), the medics (surgeon and doctor) and the snipers. Now all we need is a Geneva Convention on Warfare to outlaw sniper tactics :) They target healers!
 
Finally got Tengri working. The missionary no longer can build everything and defeat all the armies of the world while having a nice cup of fermented mare's milk :)

I have some snipers and i think medics/great doctors? also, listed in my mod, NWA, that would be almost the same here, just would have to change very little.
 
Is your Shinto modmod 100% working? Will it meet my quality standards? ;)

Any other religions why you think may meet high quality standards as well? I might add a few.

I checked in the in the pedia only for this one as I have not played a game that far yet. Everything is showing up fine there so maybe I uploaded the wrong version. I will check.
 
Could it be possible to also distribute a one-in-all-pack for all you have converted yet? You may also like to add the godsmaker/eternal stuff os79 did tonight^^

I hate it to load 10+ different files+put them in place, thats just micromanaging that could be avoided...

1a. None of the religions have sounds or maybe I should say the correct sounds.
1b. Not all use the gametext files so do not support multi languages. I did start converting some but in my haste I left some of the text inside the building and unit infos files.
1c. Not all the cutsceens or movies work but they don't in the main RoM either.

2. Other than that Andean, Asatru, Tengri and Voodo are fine.

3. Mesopotamian one of the buildings gives a ship promotion so needs to be restricted to coast.

4. Yoruba does not work like other religions in that you cant build its temple, monastry or cathederal without having it as your state religion. Therefore if it is not your only religion you will not use it because of the revolutions implications.

5. Animism(also called Shaman) and Druid are interesting in game concept but I am not sure that they work. They do not have a missionary but a multi-tallented unit which acts as a scout, missionary and special great prophet. The AI seems to use them as scouts. They are also expensive 110 as apposed to 40 i.e. almost 3x the cost of other missionaries and twice the cost of the equivalent buildings. The buildings can only be built by the missionary and I have not captured a city and found the buildings in them. This may just mean that they are set to not survive capture.

6. Scientology - has some reported problems other than that it would be in item 2.

7. AAranda's Shinto comes too late in the game for historic accuracy. However my ShintoAndShamanism has problems also. The Geomancy technology favours those who go for many religions, like me, so may be unballanced. The Shaman Hut is just a variation on the healers hut. The Shamanism tech seems a bit of a kludge to allow Shinto to be available earlier. I am not sure I have the costs right yet.

I am thinking about it, now that I have done a few. I would like to get the language text at least into the correct files and add the correct sounds first. So perhaps when I have done them all or as many as I can do modular. I also need to get up the courage to replace AAranda's Shinto mod with mine which is built on his :).

Then there is extending this to more religions "Masonic" for example even thought it is not a religion but an organisation which requires religion. then there are all the ones in EusebiusWorldReligion-Revival
