I'm needing you guys to help me since current resources are drawing a blank.

In my lap I have a Medion CyberMaxx FID2130 Notebook PC

It was my laptop for a fair few years, but now has died a death.. it powers up, even gets desktop before promptly dying (No chance to check anything).

I'm sick of it and wish to sell it as spares/repair on ebay.

Problem is, if I bash FID2130, or MD41349 into google, I get nothing but old ebay adverts..

I need to know the spec of this to sell it.. but can't find anywhere that can tell me!

On the Medion website I can find drivers, manual etc for this laptop, but no info.

Can anyone out there help me with this?

! I need people power, not computer help !
:(:(:(

Sorry, if I didn't make it clear.. but the laptop is DEAD.

I think someone that can read german oughta be able to help you more. Medion isnt a brand i've heard of here in the USA, so im finding it hard to find anything on any Medion notebooks.

EDIT - possibly a stupid question, but you have checked all the labels on it, right?

[Insert a wise crack about Abaddon needing help]

How about checking the BIOS? It may not lay things out perfectly, but you could find some answers. Can it boot to Safe Mode (hit F8 while it's booting)? Assuming it's a Windows OS.

If you do or don't know, you don't need to completely load the OS in order to access this.

Look for a serial number or product/model number and search that in google.

Thankyou Till!

From my memory, most of that matches :D

Ditto!

It'd probably be simpler to find a used laptop dealer online, and try to get some credit towards a trade-in.

Well I sold a similar dead one for ~ £100 a few months ago..

Since it can boot, why not try a Linux Live CD? Knoppix or Ubuntu have good live distros, very easy to use. If they boot you can ID all your hardware, and maybe narrow the problem to your windows install or hardware.

Nah, this laptops always been a crock of . .. .. .. ., i'll be glad to get rid of it. Even if I get £10 i feel i've done ok because it deserves the scrap heap.

The motherboard has always been shot, some problem these laptop models had (only google links for this model is people asking how to fix the problem )
