The French have sought to declare war upon a Republic that no longer exists. Any attempt for them to capitalise on the continuation of the Rhineland DMZ will ensure the complete and utter repudiation of the unjust Versailles treaty and the return of war.

Was it the German government declaring war or the French government? I think you will find the answer to both important questions to be the French. Germany stands resolute in our defence and while we may very well be defeated we will ensure that the French do not buy anything cheap!

Hitler was born in 1889 so considering this year will be 1921 he would be 32. Given the French request for immediate payment of all reperations the German people revolted. As we already have the Soviets in Russia I didnt want to become a communist state, perhaps I should of. Needless to say the National Socialists have more influence from the left side of the party and Hitler isnt in complete control as of yet.
Having said this all, if France had offered a payment scheme of say 1 eco point a turn (allowing me to rebuild), a relaxation of military restrictions (considering I have received threats of war from several nations including France) and agreed to a recipricol DMZ across from the Rhineland border region we would of had smoother sailing.
Oh and a bit of diplomacy

We propose the following as a way to avoid a second war in less than a decade.
1/ Germany will pay reperations totaling 10 spending points (considering that this is double my income) at a rate of 1 sp a turn for the next 10 turns. This will be split up between France and Britian as they see fit.
2/ Due to hostile neighbours a relaxation of military restrictions is sought after. We propose that the army is allowed to have 1,000 panzers (France has more than double this already), 400,000 infantry (France once again has more than this already). On naval terms the German Navy is allowed to be doubled and have one battleship for coastal defence, but no u-boats (still easily outclassed by Britian). In the air the German Luftwaffe is to be allowed once more to the point of allowing 750 fighters and 250 bombers (still easily outclassed by the British and French)
3/ Anchuluss between the German Reich and Austria is to be allowed. If this occurs Germany will take full responsibility of reperations from the Austrian government (should be another 5 eco).
4/ Self-deterimination of any Germanic peoples outside the Reich is not to be denied. The points of contention is are: The Saar Valley on the French border, the Sudtenland, Sheslwigg-Holstein and Memel in Lithuania. We do ask that Britian and France give blessing to plebescites that will lead to their choice or returning to the Reich or remaining part of their new nations.
5/ Germany will hold new elections for the Reichstag and ReichsPrasident within 12 months. Germany after these elections will stand for membership to the League of Nations.
6/ In response to the Polish Corridor. Any Germans living in the region may be allowed to return to the Reich without hindarence from any other party. This will ease tensions between Poland and Germany considering transportation rights across the Corridot have been allowed
7. The Rhineland Demilitarised Zone is to continue but a likewise 50 mile DMZ on the French side of the border is asked for to forestall possible conflicts.
