AG - Discussion thread

In fact, since you expressed interest in the honourable game this one is ready to start.

Cool, thanks!

AG2 finished in embarrasing fashion  ( ;) ), so I was planning to start a new one anyway!

Really? Let me check that out. ;)

Well, we've been beat by the AI in AG2. But some of the players want a rematch, but then on demigod. That is added to the roster and probably will start in a few weeks.

Planned, not started yet:

Sid (planned at the end of AG1 which is close to the Modern Age)
-Aggie
-CarlosMM
-Nad
-Jack Merchant as a maybe
-Skyfish
-Kylearan as a maybe

6 spots in total

OCC Space Race (planned at the end of AG4 which has just started, but will probably be finished soon)
-Aggie
-Melifluous
-CarlosMM
-Microbe
-2 open spots

Democracy rules the world, the rematch - demigod or deity(probably in the beginning of April)
-Aggie
-Stapel
-CarlosMM
-Melifuous
-Jack Merchant
-1 open spot

I am not questionable...

Wanna play

wanna win...

In my humble opinion, there's nothing wrong with restarting AG2 on deity again; after all, our getting whipped there had nothing to do with the variant but all the more with our isolated start which kept us out of the trading loop, the lack of backward AIs to 2fer with and the slight misjudgment of attacking the Dutch. I do believe the AG2 team is quite capable of taking on deity and winning, variant or no - we just needed somewhat better luck.

Ehm...I see a pattern in the reaction of the players of AG2. You all weally weally weally want a rematch quickly. But I'm a bit swamped (at last :D ). I COULD prepare everything and let you all play first. Or should I just wait a few weeks?

I don't mind waiting though, but starting now wouldn't be a problem either - and you are a bit swamped already, aren't you ? ;)

In actual fact, I'm thinking of joining one of the RBC-Middle Ages teams too as I've done some testing on the scenario again and found the loading times to be within the limits of acceptability after all (not to mention the incredible fun to be had in stomping all and sundry with the glorious Cordoban Ansars).

As promised, the OCC Space race is ready to lift off: AG6 - The OCC Space Race (Monarch)

I added a special invitation for Nad, Jack Merchant and Yoshi74.

Next OCC will probably be one of these:
-OCC Conquest standard map pangaea - regent level
-OCC Conquest small map continents - regent level
-OCC Conquest small map pangaea - monarch level

Update on the expected starting days, etc... of the three planned SG's:

Sid
Planned after AG1 will finish. This epic SG is in the modern age, but I don't see it end anytime soon :D

It is not certain whether Skyfish can play. It would be a shame if he can't, but he then will probably be able to make a map that would give us a fighting chance when we play well.

I like it to be a fun game, but also one in which we try to play well and discuss a lot. I know that I'm hardly qualified for Sid, but I'm going to try hard to do that :)

-Kylearan as a maybe

I want to finish a couple of my running SG's before I start this one. So it will probably start after AG1, Space-2 and the RBC13 games.

-Aggie
-Stapel
-CarlosMM
-Melifuous
-Jack Merchant
-1 open spot

EDIT: Removed info about OCC Space Race, which already started :p

The next OCC will start after it finishes (now almost Industrial Age), being one of these three:
-OCC Conquest standard size map pangaea - regent level
-OCC Conquest small map continents - regent level
-OCC Conquest small map pangaea - monarch level

Interest for that one:
-Aggie
-Microbe
-CarlosMM
-Melifluous
- 2 open spots
