AgentNES: Napoleonic Wars

To: France
From: Aaron Burr

This is the vice president speaking. Jefferson had a heart attack reading your offer and is currently in a coma. Congress unanimously approved of this godsend of an deal.

I love that "Jefferson had a heart attack reading your offer and is currently in a coma".

That one's a winner :D

We presume that all of the territorial transfers, particularly Malta, agreed upon in the Treaty of Amiens shall be upheld fully?

To: The French Republic
From: His Majesty's Foreign Ministry

Yes, we will complete all terms agreed to in the treaty, as you can see the garrison has already left.

OOC: Their EP is only 7. I think an American-Ottoman war is on the horizon. If only this happened in real life .

Ok maybe I should explain . Historically napoleon was literallyvwilling to give Louisiana to the USA as it was unprofitable and it's citizens were about ready to rebel and join America.

Edit: oh and omega if lucky follows throughDont worry, they'l Just apply for statehood rofl.. So yeah I'm pretty sure were still on

It was a joke anyway, though I'm sure in my infinite skill and political ability I could convert the Americans :p.

Well yes and no, It was worthless at the time, but Napoleon dreamed of a global French Empire, and LA was a stepping stone towards that, but he needed the money more. When the Americans wanted to purchase New Orleans, the sent a delagation to France to discuss it. The Ottomans nor Oman would have had any idea that this had occured.

@Omega, the many christian citizens of Louisanna would rather defect to you than be controlled by an Islamic state on the other side of the world that has little to no way of controling them.
Edit: Anyway it would had been funny to see how that would pan out...

To: French Republic
From: The United Kingdom
We hope that your troops have left the Papal States as in the treaty.
(OOC: Just looking for some Casus Belli)

OOC: Oh thanks for the history lesson, but your tremendous over-simplification of Napoleon's motivations is wrong.

Sweden declares its continuing complete neutrality in order to protect itself from our fellow sovereign states and mad Jacobins alike. This extends to Pomerania too. No troop movements will be allowed through our territory and no embargoes will be engaged in.

Espoir, flyingchicken, D'Artagnan, and Kyzarc are all confirmed.

As for bestrfcplayer as Austria, Karalysia, who was banned (again) until Tuesday, has expressed interest in taking Austria. Also, since you're more of an inexperienced Nesser, I'll ask that you choose another nation. There are still some of the various German/Italian/Indian states left. Saxony, the Papal States, or Italian Republic might all be good choices.

As for the Louisiana Territory, part of the reason that Napoleon sold it so willingly in RL was that with Haiti no longer a colony, it really wasn't worth having anymore.

Could we perhaps have a list of players and their nations?

Also, isn't the Papal stats still an important role, or not so much in this era?

Check the first page, 4th post for a player list.

Also, the Papal States is still an important nation, yes, but in this era less so. Especially since it was occupied on and off by France during the Napoleonic Wars. Although, it would be interesting to have someone play as the Pope.

To start to flow of diplomacy, here's some NPC diplo.

From: Tripoli
To: United States of America

While Tripoli has no wish for conflict with America, we do not want to be shortchanged either. Therefore, for the modest fee of 1EP per year, we will gladly rescind our declaration of war against you, and continue to offer our services in protecting your merchants from the pirates that roam the Mediterranean.

To: France
From: Toussaint L'Ouverture, President of Haiti

Our government does not wish to come into conflict with the glorious Republic of France. However, we do not wish to lose our independence or return to the horrors of slavery. Therefore, if you consent to recognize our independence and the end of slavery in Haiti, we will continue to faithfully serve France.

Look, the Crusades are over. They've been over for hundreds of years. You have no right to steal ship cargo, especially from a secular nation like us, over religious differences. So we have an Counter offer. You stop stealing from us, or your nation will be added in a hymn of our Marines.

OOC: It was actually America whom declared war on Tripoli, not the other way around.

To: Ottomans
From: America

You should control your fellow Muslim nations before the Stars and Bars fly over them.
