AI AutoPlay 7 - Deity - Pick the Winning Leader!

Welcome back to the seventh game of the AI AutoPlay Deity - Pick the Winning Leader! competition.

The map turned out to be interesting this time.

Main Continent:
Bismarck, Boudica, Justinian I, Louis XIV, Mansa Musa, Mehmed II and Suleiman (7)

NE Continent:
Catherine, Churchill and Darius I (3)

West Island:
Charlemagne and Washington (2)

SE Island:
Hannibal (1)

And if that was not enough to get the heart pumping in excitement, we have two winners of their previous games; Charlemagne and Justinian I. Will one of these make it a perfect two-for-two? Will one of the eleven other leaders have anything to say in this game? You will just have to tell me what will happen here...

Will there be songs for the mighty men of lore?
Will the victor have a silver tongue, or hands of gore?
Will we reach for the stars, unopposed, undenied?
Will our enemies run through catacombs to hide?
Will we dominate, eliminate?
Will we stay true, thinking straight?
Will time end before we're done?
Will no one be left after we've won?

The Winner, and the only one to get the Leader/Victory condition correct...

:trophy: Mec AntiKythera :trophy:

Spoiler THE COMPETITION :

A - Used to determine competition winner(s)!
Name the winning leader! [A1]
(the victory condition [A2] and winning date [A3] optional, but highly recommended!)

Competition winner(s) will be declared after considering A1, A2 and A3, respectively.

# if two participants have the correct leader, but only the second one has chosen condition and/or date, the latter will be declared competition winner (with the former 2nd placed).

*Winning date can be a period. But of course; the narrower the period, the better the reputation of the ones to get it right!

PS!
You are NOT allowed to chose more than ONE leader. But you can of course comment on your own choice by mentioning other possible scenarios and winning leaders, as long as you make it clear whom your final choice IS! Posters choosing more than one leader, will be disqualified!

B - Civ IV Expert credits given here...
Name the useless! [Bn] (date(s) of elimination optional)
(those leaders who get themselves eliminated - if any (I won't tell just yet!))

C - Just for fun (you need luck here...)
Who...
...gets the first Great Person [C1] (date and type optional)
...builds the first World Wonder [C2] (date and wonder optional)

...proves the world is round [C5] (date optional)
...wins the race towards Liberalism [C6] (date optional)
...enters the first Golden Age [C7] (date and method [Taj or GP] optional)

*of course, if the game ends before some of these things happen, and you say so, you will be credited under "honourable mentions"! But it is more likely that all of these will happen before a Victory Condition is reached.

IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND and want to change your choices, you are allowed to do so before the deadline passes. But you MUST edit your first post. After the competition deadline has arrived, the posts will be examined in chronological order. If multiple posts exists, by the same user, only the FIRST post containing A1 (optionally A2 and A3) will be allowed to enter the competition.
Posts NOT containing A1, will be disqualified from the competition.

PS!
Since I recently re-installed my Civ IV game due to me installing the BUFFY mod (to enable participation in the HOF), I must have forgotten to set my AutoSaves for every turn. After having finished the game once, I discovered the only savegame in existence was the initial 4000BC save

Naturally, I had to set it straight, and play the map a second time (unfortunately). However, this will not affect the competition in any way, since you don't know what happened the first time I played it. So there is no way for you to tell if the second time was a more "normal" result, or a more "freaky" one. I won't tell either way until the game report comes up next week.

Good Luck!

Yours Sincerely
Kjotleik of Norway :D

Justinian I could've competed for Culture, but was knocked down to one city by the end...
Every time Justinian I tried to attack Louis XIV, it was the French that captured enemy cities!

Updated WB StartingSave file with Game Seven!

Justinian, space, 1850 AD. I think the main continent stands the best chance.

Lets say Louis wins a Culture victory in 1840. He has a nice corner of the map and builds enough units that he may survive Justinian, Mehmed and the other nasties.

Looking forward to shadowing this one.

Name the winning leader!

Charlemagne Domination 1850.

B - Name the useless!
Washington eliminated 1AD
Mansa Musa eliminated 500AD

C - Just for fun (you need luck here...)
Who...
...gets the first Great Person [C1] (date and type optional)
Louis Priest, 2000BC

...builds the first World Wonder [C2] (date and wonder optional)
Louis Stonehenge, 2750BC

...makes the first Declaration of War [C3] (date and defender optional)
Mehmed DoWs Mansa 1500BC

...founds the early religions (Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism) [C4a-c] (dates optional)
Charly Buddhism
Mansa Hinduism
Justinian Judiasm
Darius Confucianism

...proves the world is round [C5] (date optional)
Hannibal 500AD

...wins the race towards Liberalism [C6] (date optional)
Louis 800AD

...enters the first Golden Age [C7] (date and method [Taj or GP] optional)
Louis

Initially I fancied Louis to fare quite well here but Charly's going to be unstoppable with the amount of land he will have once he inevitably wipes Washington off his continent. Louis will be too busy building wonders and teching away to withstand a large attack from Boudica/Justinian.

Mansa will hold on relatively well despite multiple DoWs but I'm sure he will be hated by pretty much everyone on that continent and suffer an earlyish KO despite his lovely looking land. I tip Boudica to take control of large parts of the larger Continent.

I fancy Catherine to perform quite well also but Churchill will be too stubborn for her to roll over once she tires of beating on Darius.

Hannibal could be a bit of a dark horse for a backdoor Space/Culture victory, but I expect Charly to have conquered pretty much most of the map before that becomes an issue.

Justinian wins a Space Race in 1880 is my bet. The people not on the main continent are more or less out of the running IMO. Justin is a solid AI, one of the best IMO.

A:
Bismarck domination 1870

B:
Boudica 200 AD
Darius 300 AD
Mehmed 800 AD
Louis 1000 AD
Justinian 1600 AD
Mansa 1650 AD

C:
1: Great Scien Mansa
2:GWall Washington
3:Boudica on Mehmed 1200 BC
4:
a:Budd Mehmed
b:Hindu Louis
c:Judaism Charlie
5:Catty
6:Mansa
7:Boudica Gpriest

a: Mehmed - Space - 1900
b: Washington
c: Louis, Louis, Mehmed, Charlemagne+Justinian+Darius, Catherine, Mansa Wusa, Louis (GP)

With Mansa Musa on the main continent that continent will be far ahead the others. Unlucky for the bunch outside the action. How long will Louis let MM be alive?

Winner: Bismarck, Space 1888. Justinian not far behind but Bismarck has better production facilities and the Panzer to fend off neighbours.

The useless:
Washington (Charley is too though)
Mansa (Louis gets annoyed)
Mehmed (Louis gets bloodthirsty)
Sully (Louis gets an idea of domination)
Boudica (Bismarck needs her land)
Cathy (She needs land but will lose)

Lib-race: Justinian
1st DoW: Louis on MM

I'm throwing my money behind Darius, 1890 space.
Yeah yeah he's on the wrong continent, but look at his continent. Cathy has no land and is blocked by a mountain against churchill, so she'll crawl down her small peninsula, run into the desert and lose to Darius. Churchill doesn't know how to do things, so Darius will dominate that continent.
Mansa + main continent screams tech dominance there, but he is sandwiched between Mehmed, Justinian and Louis. If he picks the wrong religion he might even get eliminated.

Wton and cathy get eliminated.

Ooh, Louis, I did not see that coming.

Seems that Louis is a versatile AI. Thought he was a big time warmonger. Perhaps H-rule saved Mansa (AD). Look forward to see Mec AntiKytheras replays.

By the way, did Hannibal DoW Darius without being able to reach him?

*One tip Ironlungs76 - Buy a lottery-ticket immediately!

Not much point in that I'd be one number off correct every single time ;)

Wish I'd gone with my initial gut feeling that Louis would win now.

I'm curious, was there much variance having to re-run the game from your initial results?

Anyway, interesting results as always, thanks Kjotleik!

Thanks for the report, Kjotleik.

Louis, Culture and 1840's? You would almost think I played a shadow game before making my guess, until you see the results of my games that is. Two of the three games were won by leaders nobody picked. I will get those posted later today for comparison.

By the way, did Hannibal DoW Darius without being able to reach him?

No. Between the Hannibal island and the Darius/Churchill/Catherine continent there is a two-wide gap (coast to coast, no ocean between) at the smallest.

I'm curious, was there much variance having to re-run the game from your initial results?

Well, as I don't have any savegames from my "lost" first attempt, I cannot say. But I do remember that Louis XIV won a Space victory, and that Hannibal was the second-in-line as far as SpaceShip construction was concerned.

Also, Suleiman did worse, and Justinian I better in my "lost" game. Details are harder to come by due to the missing save-games, though.

Yours Sincerely
Kjotleik of Norway :)

Louis won both of your games? That's funny, he didn't win any of the three I ran which left me convinced that I was crazy for picking him.
