I think it may be time for sis to start moving the initial scout before posting the screenshot. I think his improved ability means he needs less instruction on initial scouting strategies. Just a thought
i'm not denying his ability has improved bunches or saying he "needs" instruction. but for this screenshot he posted:
Since I think this start will entail less debate than usual (though of course I could be wrong),
and that statement (not about gameplay, about debate) was definitely wrong

. so my vote is no. sidenote: to help people who don't particularly want to read such debates, your suggestion of clicking the links on the first page was great. helpful, non-flamey, non-antagonistic, that was very classy so thank you.
But seriously, people, 10 pages and he hasn't even played the first round? I'll probably get flamed, but in my opinion, get a life, and maybe be a little more patient and only post when you have something really meaningful to say? Many of us just don't want to read through 200 posts just to get through the first turn of a game.
Edit: This is why I don't follow the ALC games closely ... way too many posts.
think about that what you just said. why are there "way too many posts" in the first place? they get here somehow, people
want to post. "many of us" clearly do "want to read through 200 posts just to get through to the first turn of the game". or at least they've found ways around the things that annoy them (martin026's idea of going directly to links seems a good one) that they don't add more posts trying to change the entire flavor of the series. admittedly, once someone complains there are 10 pages, there will be some posts from folks trying to make it more than 10 pages, you can always count on that. but anyway...
isn't the very thing that annoys you about ALCs evidence that a lot of people people
do like them the way they are? ALCs are about discussion and they have a big following.
there are many types of series out there now of a variety of flavors, which is a VeryGoodThing. mileages vary, and different people prefer different sorts of threads. it's great that there are other options for people who prefer the more serious, less chatty type too. for example, you're running a series that i'm enjoying reading. i've posted in yours, but i kept those meaningful posts i think. technical questions about patches to be sure folks could download your saves, thoughts when you asked for 'em, that sort of thing. i do know that the tone is different, and i try to post differently. you can smack me if i get out of line. i'd prefer a PM to a public smacking directed personally at me if you remember that at the time, please.
i am not on a campaign to turn all the follow-along series into ramble-fests, i
promise
. and i don't think you'll have much success trying to change the tone so drastically here. quite frankly i hope that you don't, which i'm sure is no surprise
