I believe a friend of mine, Archaon175, suggested that to das over a year ago. das, remember my first posts in your 'By a Single Decision'?

Your writing earned the respect and admiration of aisle three of Room 175's CAD class.

Hey I wrote an alt-hist. I DEMAND to be included on your sniped list.:p

I contribute...sometimes.

I mainly contribute by every so often popping in and arguing with das. Of course I am normally right ( :mischief: ) but it takes too much time to research. Das is like a walking encyclopedia. For every fact you pull out, he has four more in store. There is also the fact that he is an adament believer in the omniscience of politics in history and the complete unimportance of religion and philosophy, making an argument with him usually devolve to a "religion means everything," "religion means nothing," "religion means everything," "religion means nothing," etc. Anywho, back to lurking until I can find an argument I can win.

Also, with Mussolini a factor in the construction of the Iberian Commune, is it much more authoritarianly lead, or no?

Mussolini isn't terribly important there, but Iberia is increasingly totalitarian - I did mention that there were some power struggles, Mussolini survived them, but barely.

Mongolia is after all, Mongolia.

True. However, USSR in OTL had a fairly introverted leadership; had Trotsky or someone of the kind come to power, it is likely that we would have had more active and earlier intervention in China, at the very least.

A collection of alternate-histories from the Never Ending Stories community. I predict a best-seller!

It certainly would make for variety. ;)

Ahem? You also wrote lots of althists, far more than just two. We had far more variety in Thread One, ofcourse - Panda, SKILORD, Grandmaster...

Not completely so, I do maintain the importance of culture, and philosophy and religion as its elements, not to mention economy; generally I think that it is all intertwined and hard to say what influences what. Does flourishing commerce influence the rise of a mercantile culture, or does a mercantile culture cause flourishing commerce? Personally I think its the former, as it tends to come earlier. Still, nice arguing with you, especially as we do hold very different viewpoints on religion's importance.

Arrgh! Go and overthrown the Hohenzollerns and impose some silly local Finnish noble with a constitution, that was what I meant. Mind, I won't really be heartbroken or anything if you don't, but make up your mind already! :p

As I already said, I won't :p Great timeline, btw. :)

Thanks. If anybody needs any more details, feel free to ask; I also restate my promise of assistance to anyone trying to make this into a NES, like silver or Azale (where is he anyway?).

We really do need more people writing something around here. ThomAnder? Dis? Panda? Israelite?

IMHO the problem with other makeing them now is that

1) while people say great job and you rock to you das, the critism is a little less pat on the backy and a little more "that could never happen, you fail" for others.

2) You're too smart. No human being could possible like know how that would echo over the next 400 years like you. Its like a Pong table fighting a supercomputer. This is why people like SYmphony also succeed, because he too is ungodly smart, but not as smart as das[symph-------------------Das)

3) You're too godly amazing. Your alt-hists are like many have said so good they could be published, others who try look in comparision to yours, horrible.

4)The respect factor. Everyone adores you and North King to a lesser extent. I think people see other people alt-hists and are like "Wait....this isn't Das"

5) George Bush. Honestly, what isn't his fault. Darn him to heck!

Note: Having said this, i do plan to write and alt-history, once i remeber what i thought of..

My problem is to envision how the POD would affect things globally or in the far future. It's easy to think of a regional and immediate effect, but much harder to connect it to the big picture, IMO :(

nah you remember my inadequacies as a crafter of the walls of text, 'sides I would get bogged down in technical and economic matters ;)

I still want that update you know! :p

Ahem, I would like to announce my newest project/dream :mischief:

Pax Sinica ;)

Is it possible to make one with a multiple POD?

I prefer one major change which leads to many other changes. That just my style, though.
