Alternate Timeline Building Experiment, v1.0

Wonderful update Daft! A thrilling read.

Amestris

Priorities: Domination, Unification

The Amestrian kingdoms will finally join together and, through a series of warlike leaders and a fervor of fevered expansionism, expand rapidly east, west, and south, unifying the Amestrian cousins both in the west and east. The new society will be clean and orderly, and begin a trend towards subjugating small neighboring societies. God willing, this era may see the birth of an Amestrian Empire.

Priorities:
(Now I think about it, I don't think I"m playing the Aelari. This is assuming I'm not)

Hassam Empire:
1: Get conquered by the Pargians

Pargian Empire:
1: Conquer the Hassam Empire

Tesnaran Empire:
1: Establish kingdoms of Tesnaran culture along the African coast
2: Maintain current terrortories

Can I give advice?

Hassam Empire
After a great war with Pargians, they surender honorably after thwir main forces are destoryed somewhere. They prospered greatly after the union.

Parginan Empire
After a great war to the north, they prospered greatly as people gained from the unification.

(or else the hassam people will say (what we want to do is to be defeated! Defeat us!))

Well, just to get the ball rolling in when Daft comes back I'll list the priorities of the Toyon civilization and get that out of the way.

Priorities: Unification and Consolidation

With all the upheaval going on in the Asian mainland I think a good bit of paranoia and fear should be going on for the Toyon kingdoms, enough to begin pulling towards a more united nation and begin pushing to bring the entire Japanese islands under a single body as well to stand against any foreign interference. Once that's completed a reconstruction should take place, reforming and creating a united government, an Emperor taking power as head of state, establishing a capital in the location of modern day Tokyo known as Kyon, dividing the nation up under local administration, forming a bureaucratic system to coordinate everything, land reformation to boost crop production, strengthening of military tradition etc. etc and forming what I call the new nation of Toshion.

Voresian Empire: Consolidate and recover. It is the goal of the people to once again become one of the premier powers of the Mediterranean.

Vespe Kingdom: Trying to Defend their new kingdom and become more civilized through cultural achievements.

Tesnaran Empire: Survival is their prime concern fighting off and consolidating in the Gibraltar area.

Thanks!! (special thanks to Nick014 and lord_joakim)

I noticed I somehow made a 'teh' spelling mistake, oh well

- EDIT: about 21 hours left, from time of this post, to send any more input! -

Time for some replyingx0r:

How far has Waina spread?

Hmm, I guess the whole middle-east region (Pargia, Hassam, Sarih states). In reduced, cult-ified form, it could have spread to what we would call Spain and beyond.

the temples become more aimed towards a technological development - this leads to the invention of gunpowder,

Sorry but I would like to keep the discovery of gunpowder out of everyone's hands for now, and introduce it at some random time and place...

An what are the plans for once we have created it?

At the end, we all get the satisfaction of having co-created an alternate world's history from the ancient to the modern :)

You could say, the ethnic-Pargian people rise up against the foreigners! You can 'play' this in a 'gamey' way if you want. Any input is valid. It's up to me to try to keep things near to realistic.

I should point out, there's nothing wrong with what Neverwonagame posted, that was actually the original idea for this. If anyone wants to post more, that is awesome, but its not necessary!

@Krimzon, you're very welcome to join! I don't think I've seen you around the forum since I let DaftNES stall again. I assume you're still playing other NESes?

Yeah, I'm doing a bit of WoW NES with Warman now. By the Blood of the Highborne! :p

But yeah, apart from that I haven't done much since DaftNES went on hiatus again... at least I hope it's a hiatus in any event. In any case, thanks for letting me join, I look forward to shaping the world with you all ;)

Is the update today or tomorrow? I'm pooped and can't send orders today either.

The Bretoch Kingdom Will crush all opposition on what we call the British Isles, spreading the word of the Goddess. We will allow tribes to join us willingly in exchange for not enslaving them. If they do resist, they will be enslaved and sent to our cities to make monuments and such

Sorry but I would like to keep the discovery of gunpowder out of everyone's hands for now, and introduce it at some random time and place...?

OOC: If it's not originally made in the OTL region of Imperial China, there WILL BE RECKONING UPON THE COWS!!! :p

So how IS daftnes' update coming along? ;)

Kan Empire
Following a succession of rather poor rulers, collapse back into a divided state, as steppe empires are wont to do.

Tagarotay Kingdom
Grow significantly in military strength, expand northwards against our most vulnerable neighbours, the Kylamis. Begin to develop religious movements questioning the continual flight westwards, declaring that we have reached a chosen land.

Arkt of Serezyl
Expand Northwards and Westwards, against the Skilach and Amestrians.

Arkt of Zevon
Grow more developed, and engage in periodic wars with neighbours, eventually forming a friendship and alliance with the Turun Kingdom.

Arkt of Savisia
Begin to agitate against the Kan Empire as it stagnates, eventually leading rebellions against it. A great rebel military leader, Szerosik, will arise around this time. Establish independence and military strength, not hesitating to exercise it.

Turun Kingdom
Engage in periodic warfare with neighbours, begin to form friendship and alliance with Zevon.

Garakal Tribes
Begin actively spreading Waina, launching campaigns throughout the Nayir Peninsula to unite followers in an empire of the faith, led by a great spiritual leader, Hurozhyn.

Yarala Kingdom
Expand, and come into military confrontations against the Garakal. Fight a few interesting religious wars, possibly losing Nayir holdings and retreating to Africa.

Vespe Kingdom
Become a center of culture and development, form many relations with the Krilik, possibly uniting with a few kingdoms for protection against the Voresians.

Sarvonian Tribes
Settle along Angara and Yenisei Rivers, up to Lake Baikal, which shall be named 'Seryk'.

Kimec city-states: Survival of the fittest continues and while the number of states remains similar, the land they posses increases considerably. Results in 5 large states: Kimec, Styles, Styrec, Mecis & Tumec

Bharu Kingdoms: are to continue fighting among themselves and eventually try and unify under a strong but short lived empire.

Kaj Kingdoms: Are to continue spreading out and filling the lands with their technologies. They should remain peaceful and possible invade the Bharu if possible.

Jornmarin Kingdoms: Are to spread into Persia, along the coast and moving their culture west towards the fertile crescent.

Champay Kingdom: Are to continue spreading and trying to unite the entire region into a massive trading empire.

Khayuta Kingdoms: same as Champay, only they will be fighting each other.

Since the forum was down, I couldn't see what had been posted since yesterday, and I've been playing some starcraft instead :)

I've now got the latest posts (thanks!!), so will be able to do most of the update tommorrow while I'm offline, and hopefully post it at an earlier time than usual.

@alex994, Light Fang and anyone else who hasn't posted anything, If you post something within about 18 hours of this post, I may be able to fit it into the update.

So how IS daftnes' update coming along?

Honestly, I'm waiting for some inspiration, particularly about how to approach the whole thing. I don't want to update if I'm going to be stalling it again straight away. You could say this thread is part of rehabilitation and training for making small, regular updates. Though that isn't going so well, heh :)

(note to others: DaftNES is something else unrelated to this thread)

In times gone by, most of the original Timiquican kingdoms had combined to form two larger kingdoms, the Timiquican kingdom and the Milintikan kingdom.
Annually, both kingdoms commemorate the Great Competition, the former raiding the newly united Achcauhtli kingdom and the latter the Xicohtan city-states.
A strange custom of extreme exogamy also begins amongst the Timiquican-Milintikan people, in which a Timiquican is only allowed to marry a Milintikan and vice-versa, with the wife going to the male's kingdom. This strange custom is known as Polaxtlacta and marriage within similar kingdoms is seen as an absolute no-no.

In response to the continued raids, the Achcauhtli completely forget about the Panto to the north and begin building a chain of forts along their southern coast, generally disrupting and pissing off the movements of the Nochechan people. Skirmishes between the two occur very often.
The Xicohtan on the other hand, never unite against the Milintikan raids and eventually some try to hire the raiders to attack other city states or even the Tulma, in exchange for money and occasionally even land.

Whashagon Chiefdoms will focus on trying to learn the ways of the Whashagon Kingdoms and establish a more settled form of life. They will begin trading with the Waeluta and develop a new written language based on the old Whashagon written language, as well as a number system.

Whashagon Tribes will continue on their aggressive attacks.

Nashagon Tribes will start to settle down and try to domesticate animals for farming (there's mountain goats and mountain sheep around /shrug)

Waeluta Tribes
will begin to settle down and form their first cities, opening contact with the Whashagon Chiefdoms and trading with them, to gain knowledge about the Whashagon Kingdoms as well. They will start developing an off-shot written language based on the old Whashagon written language.

Khayuta Kingdoms
-The famous epic Journey to the North is penned. Journey to the North is a fictionalized account of Sanzo Wukong's pilgrimage to the Tiandishi Kingdom to obtain sutras. This man, whose family had immigrated to Khayuta with a few Tiandishi families, explaining his Tiandishi name, was accompanied by three disciples--the Monkey Price, the Boar Demon, and the Dirt Demon. After facing many trials and tribulations, they succeeded. But what is the text they brought back...?

Tiandulong Kingdoms
-Cultural borrowing from the Tiandishi is especially rampant. In Civ terms, they pretty much culture-flip to the Tiandishi, although nominally they are still independent.

Tiandishi Kingdom
What exactly was this bloody religion? It was the remnants of the cult that in the beginning had prompted the Tianshi to go on their quest of dominance.

It was called: Mingdebu, or Walk of Life. The point of existence was to bring peace to Mother Earth by bringing people into their fold be it by words or by sword. This was the quest laid out by Father Sun.

Invigorated by this great pilgrimage, a sudden rush into knowledge fills the minds of the leaders. Why, if one man could walk all that long way just to get some moldy scrolls, think what the civilized, sophisticated people of Tiandishi could do?

They would culturally borrow from the Tuizen like some sort of amoeba, picking up anything they can. The Tuizen is just one particularly militarily advanced thing they borrow from; anything useful from their neighbors, they would take.

OOC: Sorry for the verb tense jumping and stuff, I'm tired and not exactly in optimal condition. :p

Can I add a new culture?

Culture name: Sregnirb
Staring point: North east of Lujin Kingdom (Korea)
Description: A Prince second in line to the Lujin Kingdom was not happy with his lot, so he founded a rival nation on the outskirts of his elder brothers nation, pulling tribes together with his diplomacy he set about obtaining horses and iron for the upcoming war. The elder brother did not realise the extent of his siblings plans, and was rather glad to get the potential assasin out from under his feet and so supported the civilizing of the tribesmen to the north-east
Priorities: Horsemen, Iron weapons. A small but cohesive nation on the coast.

Thanks, I'm working on the update now. Spent a lot of time on the map earlier, so haven't really started the writing yet :( Update should be posted within 5 hours (much later than I planned, lol).

@Light Fang, I was going to use your old orders that I missed anyway, but thanks for the additions.

@Lord Aiken, I will add that culture, but it will be NPC unless you switch from the Chuklikan-descended culture!
