Constitution to be patriated "soon" - PM
The issue over the patriation of Canada's Constitution, the current hot-button topic in Canada, continues, and takes some surprising new turns. The Fascist Government in the UK is seemingly "reluctant" to simply hand it over, says one expert. "Mr. Mosely is the leader of the Fascist Party, he is Fascist, so simply handing the thing over is something that he, politically cannot do. But, on the other hand, Canadians are extremely wary of the Fascists in the UK, Canadians in general have always been to the political left, not quite Communism, but definitely Socialism. So they see the Fascists in Europe as a threat, of sorts, and, well, they are not scared of them, they are more scared of attack by the Fascists, and war against them," says John Duncan, Legal and European Expert. Rumors have been swirling that Canada's Constitution might be home in 2 years, but no officials would deny nor confirm that.
The situation regarding Canada's Constitution took an interesting twist in the past few days, with the BBC reporting that Mr. Mosely needed to "review" the Canadian Constitution, which raised many fears that the British would change the Canadian Constitution in a way that would not be acceptable to Canadians. Canadians were also worried by BBC reports of adverting a war in Canada. Canadians are generally puzzled by this declaration, as, as far as they know, no war is going to break out anytime soon in North America. Some were contemplating that the UK might take Military Action if Canada decided to declare independence, and create our own Constitution, but many doubt that it would come to that. Depending on the UK's actions, however, the support from Canadians might be there for that.
A general trend has been noticed in the past while of an increasing anti-Fascism, and, by extension, anti-UK feeling in Canada. Some say that this is purely due to Mr. Mosely's Governemnt, and perceived anti-Canadianism, and some say that this is part of a larger trend.
Canada Ratifies AFTA!
In a decisive 295-6 vote in the House of Commons yesterday, Canada ratified the AFTA deal! It took just 2 days of debate to decide that this was the way forward for Canada, and, in fact, there was very little opposition to it. Both Canada and the USA's economies have been flying high as of late, and both have been doing very well, and experts say that AFTA will mean that they will do even better. When the USA proposed the deal, some were skeptical, include the Canadian Communist Party, the CCCF. They, and one Liberal, vote against the measure.
Said Prime Minister Diefenbacker, "AFTA is the Trade Deal which will make all of the Americans strong, and a true Economic Super-power in the world at large. This Deal will be what is needed for the Americas to unite Economically. I am therefore proud and please to, on behalf of the Canadian people, sign this deal, which will see great economic benefits for this nation. I also hope that this fosters closer ties with our friend and ally, the United States. I wish to thank President Warren, and i look forward to working with him and our American friends in the future."
USA gives Canada diplomatic support over Constitution
In what is being billed as the most important step to date in the Patration Effort regarding Canada's Constitution, President Warren of the US today declared that the USA is giving Canada diplomatic support in our effort to patriate our Constitution. Many bill this as the key to geting the Constitution patriated.
This has also boosted the image of the USA in public opinion polls. The USA is now regarded as a "close friend and ally" by 65% of Canadians, up 7%. The UK, on the other hand, has been slipping, down to 52% from 60% just a week ago. The UK figure is largely due to the UK Government not seeming very willing to patriate the Canadian Constitution. Experts warn that delays might force Diefenbacker to announce formal Independence, which he would possibly have support for, but would jeapardize Canada-UK relations.
Diefenbacker has released a statement saying that "The UK remains a close and noble friend to Canada, taht has never been in doubt. The UK will always be a close friend to Canada, and, to demonstrate their friendship, they will be patriating our Constitution soon. In no way are Canada-UK relations in jeopardy, at this time"
