America: Write Your Own History

OK... How about this proposition:

Rollins Settlement

Named after interim Illinois Representative David Rollins (Nephew of Logan Whitmeyer, represents the people of Illinois during the current administration at New York)

To strike a possible deal between staunch gun control opponents and pro-control liberals, Rollins drafted the following deal:

Section 1
The ability to possess a firearm be withheld to all meeting any one the following requirements:
1) Being under 27 years of age
2) Has been found guilty of a(ny) crime(s) involving that person's use of a firearm
3) Is a known member of the Communist Party
4) Is a known member of the mafia in any American city, township, borough, or municipality
5) Has not been a citizen of the United States of America for at least 7 years.

Subsection 1: "Any crimes", as stated above, does not include crimes convicted of during the administration of William Foster or Earl Browder.

Section 2
Any one person meeting any one of the above requirements may submit an appeal to a special committee of 7 (13 if that county's population exceeds one million people, 19 if above three million) officials in each county, appointed by that state's governor. If the committee finds that that person deserves the use of a firearm and does not break requirements 3 & 4, then they are granted a special permit allowing them the use of a handgun for two years. If the committee finds that that person deserves the use of a firearm but breaks either rule 3 or 4, then their case is then sent to a state-wide committee of 5. If that committee finds the aforementioned person deserving the use of a firearm, then it is carried to a national committee of 9 appointed by and consisting of Congressmen. If this panel finds the person deserving of a permit, then that individual shall be granted the aforementioned permit. Any committee finding that person not deserving of the use of a firearm shall notify the sender of the appeal.

OOC: I will polish it up a bit more when I get home.

I also choose Rollins as sort of the "spiritual successor" to Whitmeyer when he dies, which will likely be during an upcoming election.

I agree(except the 27 age and the 7 year of citizenship)

Looks good with the exception of the age issue. I say lower it to 24.

The right to own guns must be preserved, I agree on that, and Eisenhower doesn't say anything about it. So Thomas lost my vote here. Without guns the people are lot more passive to the government will, so the right must be preserved.

But Dewey is being too radical in a moment we can't be too radical. We are on the brink of collapsing, we must restore order first and then deal with Browder. He can be hanged, and I won't criticize this, so we can start debates about Death Penalty after he is sentenced. But he should have a trial nonetheless.

So Eisenhower for prudence and re-strengthening!

What gun violence ?GUNS ARE BANNED IN IRAN SO DON"T SAY ANITHING IF YOU DON"T KNOW EVERYTHING

Sorry if I didn't make it clear. I was referring to the Iran in this game. Not the Real World Iran. Iran collapsed and became a war torn region where warlords ruled the countryside.

Dewey being radical?when?

Ok then.sorry i got mad

Let me rephrase. Dewey supports a trial just as the others do, but if sentenced guilty, Browder will be publicly hanged instead of possibly be privately executed or put in prison.

Current results:
Ballot:
Dewey 5
Thomas 6
Eisenhower 4

Okay, tell me when the trial will begin. I will work on it. And it's 18 in real life America so that is not much of a compromise.

What I've pointed to be truly wrong is not the hang without a trial, or even with a trial, or the penalty of death, but actually the moment. Besides everything that has happened, Browder had allies and supporters. Do you think they are all dead yet? I think if we touch on this subject right now we may complete the destruction of the USA, so my proposal is that we wait for this provisional government to recalibrate america and then we put Browder on trial. I even won't touch on the Death Penalty controversy before Browder goes to trial and is sentenced.

I am ok with this. I feel a provision should be incorporated designating the type of guns which can be owned by a civilian. A distinction between weapons which are military grade and civilian firearms should be recognized. A civilian can own only a civilian firearm unless in time of war, in which case as a member of a citizen's militia he can own a military weapon.

That is true. I will add that Dewey and Thomas both want an immediate trial, while Eisenhower wants to put it off.

fixed

I changed section 1 and 3

I also request a fair and impartial post-mortem trial for President Foster. He may not be a Saint (though no politician is one) but he wasn't evil or a dictator.

Isn't anyone going to consider this?
