IT: I look around at the various build orders, check tiles worked, look at tech (we're still behind :cry: ), click next turn.
1. Jaipur warrior--->worker. Lahore Horse-->horse
2. Babs start Leo's
3. Calcutta Archer--->temple. Gah!!! SOMEONE WAS IMPROVING REGULAR GRASSLAND TILES BY OUR MAIN HORSE-PUMPING CITY WHEN THERE WAS AN UNIMPROVED BG!!!:mad: I found Bengal on the western hill near the fishies to be a fishing town (duh). Starts a temple.
4. Delhi Horse--->settler. Karachi warrior-->spear. Zulu start Leo's.
5. Bombay horse--->horse. Madras horse--->horse.
6. Japan wants to trade their WM for ours + 420g. Uh, no. Lahore horse-->horse. Hyderabad warrior--->worker. Korea and Babs building Copernicus's, Japan building Leo's.
8. Delhi settler--->horse. Bangalore Spear--->Courthouse prebuild for... something. We're pulling 1 spt -_-. Otto's start Leo's.
9. Karachi spear-->horse. China start Leo's.
10. Grrrrrr. Despite my best efforts at dancing our horses, Chinese settler pair makes it to gems and bg spot on east coast and founds there. I hate them. They must die. Madras horse-->horse. Kolhapur worker--->spear.

The Game

Why do these turns depress me? WE'RE SO EFFING FAR BACK IN TECH!!! I know it comes with Deity, and that we're going to buy to Middle Ages then attack people gratuitously in exchange for tech, but at the moment we'll be lucky if Jumbo doesn't face Mech Inf! I think I'll go play some TSK...
 
Ok, I didnt realize that they are already past EDucation!!! WE need to forget about whoever doesnt have the GL!! By the time we attack them they will be defending with Riflemen and attacking with Cavs!!! OK, fine, attack Otss for thier two cities. I want to play just a little dastardly. ATtack two of thier cities and redeclare war getting techs for peace untill we have Chivalry then Upgrade and go straight for China on the city that they have the GL and sue for peace. If the city revolts, its alright becuase we will get the techs we need, right!
 
You won't get techs for peace. Not until you take a core city.

Also, those ottoman cities will flip to the Chineese.

Guys, settle down.

Of the techs that the AI know, what do we really hope to gain from them? Gunpowder gives a 3D unit. Chivalry gives our UU. Military Tradition civs Cav. Other than that is there any techs we really need? Other than that is there any military advantages the AI gains? Once we get to the next age (as soon as Mongols get Currancy or Constrution, buy the other) get Chivalry and start our Golden Age (we should be in Republic by then). Beeline to Military tradition and THEN take the Great Library. At this point, with Education out, the longer we wait to take the Library the better.

For the short term we need to fight a war with our horses. The rules of this engagement will be:
Only fight someone we can defend against. IE someone who's capital is far away.
Only fight someone that has cities/settlers near our core. We need to guarantee victory early so we can get peace quickly.
Try not to fight anyone that has a lot of gold or else the will get an aliance going against us.

Stage the troops, and capture a lot on the first turn. Settlers will be juicy targets for this and it will give us much needed slaves.
Get Peace before the AI start doing damage to us. If we have lookouts stationed properly and we made a lot of gains in the first turn we can wait until the enemy comes to us in LARGE numbers and then settle. If we don't do a lot of :hammer: in the first rounds, peace will be very expensive.

I doubt this first war will gain us tech. We just want to get a few more productive cities.
The next war will have the same rules. If the first was successful then we should continue to us our horses on any city that isn't connected to their source of iron (i.e. no pikes.)
If our first war is not successful or there are no more unconnected cities, we wait until Elephants.
The elephant war is designed to get us a GA. If the fighting goes well, we might grab a tech here. Remember we're beelining to Military Tradition so try to get a lower branch tech.
The remaining war is with cavalry, the first target being the Great Library. Then we'll be caught up in tech and can see what to do next. Keep building horses!

Am got skipped, so it wouldn't be bad idea for him to go and then to continue on the roster with Takeo. Up to you guys though.

I redownloaded the save, and got the same error message. Then I tried the original. it worked fine. Try this.
 
PreTurn- Raised lux. to 10% to ensure no disorder. I decided that attacking Turkey is the best way to go. They have many oppertunities to attack and thier capitol is far away.

2. Japuir; Worker> Temple. Bombay; Horsemen> Horsey. Lahore; Horsey> Horsey. Moved settlers and Horsemen to Attack positions on Ottoman Colonies. We have quite alot of horseys you know, 15!!! We also have an average military with most of our opponents like China! Going to attack in about 2 more turns when all military is in attacking position.

3. Trade China for Territory Map giving them ours with 30g. Calcutta; Temple> Granary.

4. Delhi; Horsey> Horsey. The Otts began Capercornicus Observatory :(. I ATTACK. Salonika goes first. Vet Horsey wins against the vet damaging to last HP. Spear. Next Hosey loses against theother vet. Spear. A nearby Horsey attacks and razes Solonika! Capture one of two slaves also. Settler moveing there to settle in rubble. Elite Archer on hill ready to attack. I attack reg. warrior near Mugla with vet. Horsey and win making it an Elite with one lost HP. I attack Mugla with remaining Horsey and lost :mad: :mad: !!!!!! THIS IA THE SECOND THIME THIS HAPPEND! I attack Settler Pair near the saouth with reg. warrior and lose as usual but damaging it for me to attack with the vet horsey. We win gaining two slaves! We attack Ankara with vet. Horsey and win the city!! I kept it for now untill further notice. There is one resistor. Capture slave working there.

5. I attack Settler Pair near Salonika Rubble and win gaining two slaves and making the Horsey Elite! We need to take just one more target and we are ready for peace. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :mad: :mad: I attaked Mugla with the Elite there and lost!!!! Thta city is moderatly defended, this is going to take a coule more turns to get reinforcemts there. They are due to arrive there in about 7 turn :(. That means the next leader will take the bait. I change production in Bangalore from Courthouse to Walls due in 4 more turns for protection.

6. Babylon threatens us for Territory Map and 58g, I give in becuase we are in no posiion to take on two opponents. Madras; Horsey> Horsey. Move Military. Karachi; Horsey> Barracks. Hyberate (or someting like that); Worker> Walls. Our Military is weak against Babs, I will le the next player to decide wether to move the other half of our miltary to thier front.

7. Delhi; Horsey> Spear. Bombay; Horsey> Horsey. Ankara Resistance ended. I made the citizen in Kholhapur a scientist untill Republic is researched to gain the extra 5gpt.

8. Damn It!!! Ottomans came in with three knights! They took two slaves from us and are i our borders. Bengal; Temple> Spear. Babs start Magellans Voyage. I attack two of thier Kights with an Elite Horsey and a vet and win! I sue for peace and they give us Currency and Construction for our World Map, and 275g. Half the price from the other civs. Bangalore; Walls> Courthouse.

9. Delhi; Spear> Horsey. Lahore; Horsey> Horsey. We settle Chittagong> Warrior.

10. China settles in the Horse island!! Not much overlap with us though. We get Republic and start Feudualism! Madras; Horsey> Horsey. Japan starts the Cap. Observatory. We revolt! Next leader will have the start in Republic!

Looking pretty solid guys.:goodjob: The landgrab is so important and you have staked out a good bit of land. I would definitely be less afraid of Babylon than of China however. 3-Move Riders are frightening, especially if they haven't had their GA yet. I would try to get a full view of the WM as quickly as possible if I was you. This will greatly help you in choosing targets.

Seriously, great turn. You got a solid two rings around our capital (other than the two eyesore chinese cities) and got peace and got republic.:goodjob:

How's that Tsukemono5? Are you feeling better about this game?

I'm not sure what we're looking like for techs (still far back I guess) but if we can repeat this type of war, I say lets do it. Remember, we want Chivalry and then only lower branch techs. We can go all out military since we have an average army compared to the AI and know better how to use the terrain. China probably has riders already. I think we should wait until Muskets before taking the two cities in our first ring. In the mean time, lets do as Speaker suggest: Try to get the Map and pick our next victim. Mongols or Japs seem likely, unless they don't have techs to give.
