Forget about swordsmen!!!!!!! We have a UU in knights. Use the gold for techs and rushing Horsemen for upgrade. ACTUALLY, just save our money so we can upgrade at least 40 Horses. Dont worry about our backward civilization! We will find something, we just gotta keep those cities comeing through and some Marketplaces in our cities will bring our civ back up.

if we put a city on the southern hill(west of Lahore) then it would be able access up to 4 different BG and 2 fish! are we going to put resources into a warrior->swordsman upgrade or wait for the horseman->war elephant?
 
Amirsan, how far have you gotten? can you give us an estimate as to when the report will be up?

Preturn- look around and the one thing that stands out the most is Babylon has 14 cities and 623g, nothing was being researched- im leaving it that way save money and wait for everyone to get currency to make cheaper research

warriors coming back from the n were trying to block ottoman settler pair and notice china settler pair moving onto iron! good thing we don't need it, Delhi builds horseman->settler, figure Delhi can recover from building a settler-plus area is filling up fast, several of the build queues i have started will not finish on my turn, so if the next in line wants to change to settler then better do it quick

Bombay builds horseman->settler, Bombay isn't hooked up to the horses yet so i started settler that could be changed back, worker rebuilding road now

Lahore builds spearman->settler, barb camp to s taken out, a horseman, archer and spearman being sent to nw to help block ottoman settler pair and fortify spot(near wheat) for next settler

Delhi builds settler->horseman, Bombay reconnected-lux turned down

I love being out of cycle with you guys. Nothing all day and then tons overnight.:cry:

I'm definitely on the horse>elephant band wagon. I don't think I'd pick on china that much. I seems better to war with Ottoman and weaken him before sipahi are out. China will get theirs but I'd rather get our golden age and get a quick peace to build with it. If we trigger China's GA they'll benefit more than us because their empire is bigger.

Question, does dehli have a barracks. I didn't think it did. That would make my next question, why did we build Horse>Horse in Dehli and building settler in Bombay with no granary? I thought we were going to build settler>escort>settler in dehli, workers>military in Bombay and the new town to the SW was going horse>horse>horse when it's mines get built.

Don't worry about Ottomans settling, think of them building cities for us. STOP CHINA AT ALL COSTS. They're capital is closer, their UU is closer and timed with ours.

We did need the iron. :mad: On Diety, the iron will be our way to make up for the lack of research. Iron fetches a high price and Diety AI usually have GPT to give. Now, we'll have to fight China for it.

Great work on reclaiming our land from the barbs. If all three of our settlers being built have a place to go, I think we'll be OK. There is that one tile island to the south if we end up out of room. Bombay should sneak a galley in there anyway at some point to so we can catch up in our mapping. I'm with Belial, we wnat enough cities to build the FP. I still think we can farm the barbs for gold now that we have a nice horseman army. Plus we might get some promotions. Fill in the SE last (but you all knew that). If Belial posts by lunch, I will try my damnedest to post Friday.:)

Preturn: China settled right next to bangalore, when they expand, it will kill our border. I changed that to a temple and I'm going to rush it once I get the oppurtunity. Calcutta changed from spearmen to a barracks. Settler is going to STAY in Bombay. I'm taking a big risk at sending stuff down there. BUt it is indeed land and if it's as big as I think it is, then we still have a solid chance of grabbing FP. As is now, I highly doubt we will. Also, Delhi DOES have a barracks and I'm extremely happy that it does. Pumping out those horsemen from there will help a lot. Okay, this is a bit disappointing... I realize someone had turned off our research completely and we now have... forty turns until republic. This hurts a lot, we were better off researching this tech for ourself because it's so expensive to get and I'm not sure if we can even get it in our current situation before we could still research it. In deity, the ai will more than likely beat you in tech researching, but that doesn't mean you give up on it, if you're only 10 or 15 turns away, you still might beat one of the civs that are behind (like the Mongols in our game for example). I'm going to have to MM this game a lot and make a nice drawn out gameplan, I probably won't be able to post until later tonight, but I will defidently have it ready for you tomorrow CF.

Republic was started at min on my last turn (after getting Code of Laws on turn 9)

It should be due 19turns from now, but I noticed in Tsuke's Screen shot the legend has Repulic due ----. We, as a team, need to start paying better attention to details or we will have to be in ANOTHER Diety Newb Attempt.

Glad that Dehli has a barracks. Too bad Bombay doesn't have a granary or I'd say make settlers there instead. We need more food bonuses!

We're going to have to take more risks anyway. Send the settlers down there Belial and grab as much territory as possible. If we're still short of the FP number, then we can squeeze in our fishing villages along the shore. Scout and escort with horses and each new town builds spear and whipped temple for minimal defense and border expansion. If we plan on taking Ottomans cities, we need to beable to keep them culturally. Hinder Chinese settlers, but let the Ottoman ones go.

It was? When I got the save Republic was due in ----. Check the save. I thought you wanted us to accumulate gold.
 
If it was --- in the save (I believe you) then I take responsiblity for the last 21 turns of no research. I fully intended to put science at 10% or hire a scientist. I just wish someone questioned my decision to "save gold".:)
 
This can still be a good thing. If you guys see any opportunities where one civ has a tech that another doesn't, play the middleman! We must broker and watch diplo like seagulls (have you seen their glare when you have food in your hand), and more cash gives us more opportunities to do so. From the Deity reports I've read, tech is good, but diplo skills are better.
Just my $.02, which are probably made of :smoke:.
 
I agree that we should play 2 for ones where possible. But, we won't have enough gold, despite our no-science gambit without more cities and without being in republic. Also, being caught up in tech is not that necessary. We are planning on expanding militarily. The only techs needed are Chivalry for our UU, Gunpower to protect our UU and Military Tradition for Cavs. That means the only techs we need are ones that lead to those. That is Mono and Feudalism to get Chiv. Then the bottom branch. Buying techs should be done with those in mind. We're not planning on building Universitys nor switching to Democracy so those techs can wait. We're not planning on building any of the research or happiness wonders so those techs are worthless. We just don't want to get to far back that our cavs are facing mech inf.

If we AVOID buying education, then when we take the Great Library, we instantly get caught up to wherever the AI is. Keep that in mind and if the GL is built on our continent, avoid education at all costs, preparing for a war to take it.
