There's a simpler solution. Train the warrior in a city without iron access, like rushing him in a city blocked by enemy ship.

We obviously have different views of "fun." I much prefer AAR's to last longer than 2-5 chapters because some guy finds it fun to senselessly destroy their own civilization. The reason I worded the request the way I did was because I'm okay with some types of self-destruction as long as you justify it. One example is that Rome was famous for splitting and unifying thus later when we become bigger, baseball could make a story following a request like making 3/4's of Rome independent.

It's not like destroying your iron will destroy yourself.

It's not like slamming a door over your arm will destroy yourself. Just because you can do it and not die doesn't mean you should.
