AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

@45deg: Could you point me to some documentation you used for debugging Civ ? I would like to try to understand where i can see error messages for pitboss but i don't know where to start to help you...

I'm also working on improving the parser to support russian by converting alphabets to be compatible ingame and with the platform (that's hard !)
Actually at the moment main problem it's an OOS error and these are really hard to pin down. When you start a pitboss game, it goes instantly OOS with the server. Players are in sync between them but all out of sync with the hosting server.

Just started a 730 game, and noticed that the resource icon for my starting wheat wasn't showing up. The nearby dye did display, and the Aztecs start with agriculture so I don't think there's any reason it would be unusable for me.

As I keep playing, I see a similar issue for rice and shrimp, but not pearls.

Go into 'Globe' view and check the Resources Display. Chances are you might have certain resources filtered / hidden, and thus they won't show up.

If you ever have a time when all resources just won't show up on the map, it's because the Globe View resources display is set to 'None' - which for some reason carries over to the zoomed in standard view :crazyeye:

Does anyone else get odd Great Person probabilities like this? :confused:

They add up just fine when I mouse over it, where it shows what buildings are contributing to the results and so on, but the overview it will have odds that don't add up like 100% 100% 65%. This one was one of the more.... Extreme ones :lol:
1,600% and 100% heh. The mouse-over shows the proper 94% to 6% though, but it is strange to see!

I'm seeing that too. I think I'm also seeing a lot more Great Diplomats than I ought to, and the AI is almost constantly using them to force peace. I'm sure there is an AI routine for how it uses Great Diplomats, but I think it needs some tweaking. I think GD's should be saved to force peace in a war that's going to be lost without them.

I've noticed too, I'm working on it :)

Possibly many of you know that in single player it's possible (using chipotle cheatcode) to change gameoptions during the game. Here it's explained how to do it.

I'm putting a screenshot in the main download thread so that anyone knows how to turn on/off a single option using

gc.getGame().setOption(XX, False)

where XX is the numer of the option you want to turn off.
Screenshot attached.

Note that at the moment some options can't be activated, namely those which are hidden and ON by default, because since rev729 all hidden options were forced off to avoid the no-religion-being-founded bug (due to Divine Prophets). This will be solved very soon in one of the next revisions.

Not sure if this is a 'bug' or not, but something I've been noticing a lot recently is that while I'm moving a Settler with an escort they'll just suddenly stop all of a sudden, seemingly for no reason.

I've noticed that they're actually stopping because an enemy unit is nearby, except that I can't see it. As an example, just now I was moving a stack with a Settler in it on a Go To mission, and they just stopped a few turns before they would have reached their destination, canceling the order in the process. I took one Musket out of the group and had him move towards the fog one tile southeast, and several tiles away was an enemy Greek stack of military units.

They shouldn't have stopped because of this stack there, because I couldn't see it and it wasn't within their line of sight at all, but they did anyway. During the testing phase earlier, in one of the mid-game revision updates, I noticed this as well. When moving a settler and two archers over to the Cotton hills spot they'd cancel their Go To order even though there were no enemies in sight. Enabling Debug mode to see the revealed map, there was a barb warrior in the fog where neither I or my units could see, but it caused them to stop and cancel their Go To order anyway.

Is this an intended feature or a side-effect of something else?

I'm not sure to tell the truth; did you by chance had AI pathing enabled under BUG options?

I've always had that disabled since I never knew precisely what it does differently than the standard pathing.

@devs: What do you think about maintaining a task list page thanks to the wiki function of sourceforge ? >> https://sourceforge.net/p/anewdawn/wiki/Home/

We could make a list of things to do before the next stable build ? The wiki is ideal as everyone which can commit to the server can also modify the page !

It's ok to me, you can start whenever you want. :)

Hi ! It's been a long time i haven't played the game. Unfortunately, it crashed after 5min of playing :(
Here is the crash log:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/369241/Crash_r739.7z

The crash occured when i select the javeliner and the settler.

EDIT: I've began a task list but it's not finished yet: https://sourceforge.net/p/anewdawn/wiki/Todo list/

EDIT2: Just a note: When playing with "minor civs" enabled, it would be nice to add a line on the writing tech tooltip which mention that diplomacy will be enabled with this tech.

EDIT3: After playing for two hours, i find the new tech icons and the balance very well done. Great job on this !

can anyone help me? after steam update religions icons (civ's state religion) are missing on the scoreboard and in the advice religion:

@OrlindaT
Steam's Civilization 4 is slightly different than the Civilization 4 sold on disc (DVD). I know because I found that out the hard way. As I said, I will look into the matter, but I recommend "obtaining" a copy of the DVD installer and using that edition of the game.

Bug report: After the discovery of construction, i can produce elephants with ballista BUT my existing elephants will upgrade to war elephants ! I cannot produce war elephants !

@OrlindaT

This is one of those few times that Steam isn't the best choice for obtaining a game heh. I recommend Amazon downloads, it's almost as cheap there, and downloads/runs the same way Steam does. Also, no fuss with mods and auto-updating :crazyeye:

I have some difficulties to translate "viewport" in french. Could you explain what it mean in english in several words ? The sentence "Viewport center with selection border" is pretty difficult to translate.
