AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

@Afforess

Don't know if your Diplomatic Relations Management is complete yet, but on my game, which is playing at 1366 x 768, the top portion of the window is off the screen. All other windows are fine (Vanilla, Bug, etc).

Here is a image. It is a bit blurry, but you get the idea:
Spoiler :

No, it's not complete, still a work in progress

Hey Telindil,
did you try to load your savegame with a new rev?

If you choose

1) "look modified assets" in your custom game opition or
2) enter a password using opions -> my game while playing

and update your game, you can not load your "old savegames" with the new rev anymore.

Yes i've tried to load it with a new rev...
But I didn't put any password in my custom game...
Also, i couldn't manage to find "look modified assets" in the custom game option to see if it's enabled, can you be more accurate with the path of this option ?

Thanks again for your help, then maybe i'll manage to go for an other play :)

I installed ROM-AND. I have Steam and opted into the beta for the previous version.

Civ IV does not start. Failed to Initialize Renderer. The minidump file generated is an empty file (verified with Notepad). A New Dawn's log file contains only a description of assigning plots to wild animals.

edit: caused by nVidia GeForce.

My English is bad, so here are two pictures.

First Picture is taken from the custom game option and shows the "look modified assets" option (if enabled, disables Wordbuilder).
Second picture shows how to enter a password to "protect" the game while playing (disables Wordbuilder too).

If you use one of this opitons the game doesn't like any changes of game or mod files. If a file is change, the game would't load the old savegame any more. Of course, every new rev changes at least one mod file.

Does ist help this time?

Sooo i had modified assets... cause i didn't want to cheat... Well a bad idea ;)
Everything gets clears now thanks to you,
I'm going on for a new play :) Merci beaucoup

EDIT : By the way, automatically, there is **** in the pasword field in each party that i launch, i guess it's normal ?

The Slave Market requires Slavery and Slavery, except Slavery already requires Slavery.
And, requiring Slavery, it says you can use a Slave specialist, which has no effect because you are running Slavery.

There is also a bogus prereq for Naval Warfare - it states it has a conjunctive prerequisite which is itself a prerequisite of Naval Warfare's other prerequisite.

I don't see the problem. Slave Market requires Slavery (civic) to be Active. So you could have Slavery tech but a different civic and you couldn't build Slave market.

Naval Warfare requires Archery and Sailing.

Maybe you're running a (very) outdated version.

can anyone help?? is there anything else i can do? i play another single player game and at some point it happen again.

I've only had that happen to me once, updating the mod fixed it - if you're already at the latest revision then I have no idea

Slave Market requires Slavery civic. Slavery civic requires Slavery tech. But Slave Market separately lists it requires Slavery tech, which is a null statement.

And one of its effects is to run a slave specialist. Slavery civic allows unlimited slaves. So if Slave Market is doing something, you are allowed unlimited slaves. So allowing 1 more is a null statement.

Naval Warfare requires Archery and Sailing.

Another tech down that line says it requires its' prerequisite's own prerequisite. This is ROM AND 1.75C.

My mistake, but it's Ship Building. It has an arrow from Naval Warfare, but it also says it requires Sailing, which Naval Warfare already requires.

AND 1.75 is very old and not supported since 3-4 years. I suggest you move to AND2, you can download it from the main download thread.

Hmm I am trying to install AND to on my new computer, it worked perfectly fine on my old computer, i'm not sure what is cursing the trouble.

The problem is that nothing happens when i try to load the mod. It does not matter if I run it from the launcher or from the ingame mod loading system. It does not matter where the game is installed nor where the mod is installed. I have tried with both Civ 4 complete and with the old installation with all expansions and patch's

The New computer is running win 8.1 64bit as oppose to the old one which run win7 64bit

@gram123

First of all, is Civ IV running at all when you launch the game? You can check to see if the application is running by looking in the Task Manager (probably listed under background processes). Because if it is not running, then the issue is probably bigger than the mod.

On my Windows 8.1 laptop, I had to install the mod in the actual game folder (within steam). Without it, it would not launch. See the thread

is there a way to kickout a Vasale? i try to kick him but its not possible as i saw.
If it's a voluntary vassal, he should get free when he wishes so, typically after some turn. If it's a capitulated vassal, he breaks free if he becomes strong enough compared to you. In both cases you can ask tributes from them, alt+shift+ click on name of the civ on the score list. If he refuses, he brakes away and you're at war.

If that doesn't help, you can try to bribe on of his cities with a spy. Though that's a bit harder, since you need a LOT of :espionage: points to do (aim his capital, that's always cheaper because of the embassy). It's a more complicated method, but much more fun: You get a city with it :king: though still at war with him :ninja:

@zeroRPGmaker when i launch the game the process civ 4 bts starts, consumes some CPU and Disk load and then after 30 sec or so disapears. The game runs fine with other mods and without mods.

The Doctor's Office has +5:health:. The Hospital has just 0.2:health: per citizen. Therefore, for any city smaller than 25, the 'upgrade' is actually a downgrade. Could the Hospital perhaps have +4:health: base PLUS some amount per citizen? Or change the Doctor's Office to this model (per citizen) also?

Filed as a bug because upgrades shouldn't be WORSE than the building they're replacing.

Cheers.

Doctor's Office is only +5 with Private, and I think that the civic bonus is too high. Private doesn't seem very unified thematically. I think it might need to be rewritten, but I have no idea how.

I think we should lower Doctor's Office to +1 from Private. Then if you are running Private, you break even at size 15. I wouldn't mind adding a flat +1 health to Hospital as well (break even at size 10, and at that point there are a lot of other health buildings you can build first).

The problem I have with Private is that it is so rarely better than church. Recently I seem to always end up with many religions long before I get to private, so am getting a lot of my health from monasteries. Private never comes close to this, so usually gets skipped.

is there a way to reduce the savegame size? without to change the game, we have right now on a oline game about 3,7mb and we get very often the synchronisation error, i think it has to do with the mb size of the savegame, any idea what could help to reduce it?
