If you want to take it to the :worship: full seven :worship: (imagine some kind of cult thing here), then how about:
-Sea People (Unique Galley)
-Assyria (Unique Chariot)
-Doric (Unique Galley- again)
-Hyksos (Unique Chariot- again)
-Scythia (Unique Horseman)
-Picts (Unique Swordsman)
-Media (Unique Horseman- again)

Not being sure about the origins of the Medes, I did a little quick research and was surprised to learn that they were one of the several Aryan tribes that came out of the steppes, just like the Kushans. Then I read "Furthermore, inscriptions from Assyrians, Urartians, Mannaeans and from other neighbours of Medes [source of quote] refer to Medes as Kuti or Kutu (and similar names) as an alternative name." That "Kuti or Kutu (and similar names)" looks al lot like a foreigner's transliteration of kushan to me.

Which got me thinking - you've already got an LH at least prototyped that would work for any of the tribes of that ilk:

So maybe a suggestion I made in another thread about a UU for the Kushans would work for a nomadic version of the proto-Medes:
Suggestions for UUs:
... Kushan Empire(Ashvaka/Spearman) = Ashvaka Lancer is a horse unit.
Kushan units - a statue of Kanishka (note the stirrup like straps on the boots; maybe a model for the lancer unit?), drawings from bas-reliefs of two soldiers and a female guard:
An image here of how they looked in a later era. Note the lance and bow/quiver, which would be very suitable weapons for a steppe nomad.

The Medes probably were related to the Kushans. They were also related to the Persians (the Medes lived in the north of Iran, the Persians in the south, IIRC). The Medes were famed for their horsemen, and their fine horses, which the king of Assyria expected as tribute from them a lot of the time (although he never conquered them).

I think that the Medes were also closely related to the Scythians.

Kamboj Society has history articles, citing primary source material, that link Kambojs, Ashvakas, Scythians, Kushans, Medes, etc. as having a common origin.

Having given it some further thought, I think I'll save this idea for the map versions of the game, which will come out after the version on May 9th. I like the ideas people have had - thanks for all of those!

However, what I might do is add just one of these civs I mentioned above as follows:
  • No nomads - but still have settlers when Monarchy is discovered at the end of era one.
  • Better initial units
  • Early unique unit - perhaps if it's the Sea People, they could build a ship right from the word go - other civs have to wait
  • No specific other advantageous gameplay
  • Allow this civ to be playable by the human player, not just the PC
Any thoughts?

I wanted the Coritani to have an archery theme and a leaderhead to match. Here's what I've come up for Volisios:

Nice. I think the feathers shouldn't be coloured that way though. It would look cooler if they just looked like normal feathers. (Whiteish-brownish-greyish)

Welcome to the final development thread for Anno Domini Classic!! Over the next few days, I'll be updating this page with all the latest information on the mod. In the meantime, Jasmine de Launay will tell you all about the changes since the last thread - simply click the link to view this!

As ever, I await and welcome your comments ;) !!

That video is mental. Who the hell is she?

Here's what Meryre, leader of the Sea people, is looking like:

Maybe the eyepatch is rather corny :mischief: ; also, I couldn't really find any peleset headgear, but I believe they may have worn a basic helmet like the one in the picture.

Any thoughts?
