The apple was the knowledge of procreation - they hid because they "knew" they were naked and became "clothed" to hide their shame. Eve was pregnant... A couple of pets is fine, but God didn't want his Garden over run with rabbits, especially long lived rabbits.
The Sumero/Akkadian version(s) of the Flood claim Enlil was angry with the growing number of people and wanted to keep an impending natural disaster secret but the Serpent God (Ea/Enki) told the Sumerian Noah how to survive. It would be very interesting to see what bottlenecks occurred within the last 100-150 kya, but I believe the Flood story(s) come from various peoples' encounters with rising seas and post ice age flooding. A Tlingit legend places the Flood 14,000 years ago, that may have been when the Bering land bridge disappeared from sight.
Hell is the hebrew sheol I believe, meaning the grave. Our versions of hell look more like Greek/Eastern mysticism than Judaism. There is a peculiar description of a journey to "Hell" in Dante's Inferno, the imagery is celestial and as one approaches "Hell" from Heaven they come upon the Red River and its 2 guards. Sounds like Mars, the planets were commonly referred to as sheep, rivers, waters, wanderers, etc.
