Are you Homophobic?

Alright; for the sake of honesty (and the squeezing of definitions) I'll admit that I'm prejudiced against anyone calling itself (not meaning any disrespect, your language just isn't equipped with a either-gender pronoun to my knowledge) a homosexual. I tend to categorize any such person as whiny, attention seeking, pretentious (the bad variant), blindly ideological (in whichever ideology they use to convince people of their rights) plus completely uninteresting. So far, I have not been wrong.:p

How many homosexuals have you come into contact to date? And how do you know that you aren't at least partially projecting that preconceived notion on to them when you find out thier orientation? And what's the good variant of pretensious? ;)

'Them self' would have been better then 'itself' in this context.

i voted for the wrong optioni meant no.

All the guys I've had sex with have been gays, plus quite a few "just friends" and all the people frequenting the major gay clubs of Malmö and Lund, Sweden. And Copenhagen. So lets say that I have met about a 100 men that I knew called themselves gay, not to say I have sodomized them all:p. Now you might think "WTH?!" :D but calm down, I don't conside myself gay and I feel no need to fall into a role to accomodate my environment, although I probably fall into the category specified in the answer I am gay anyway.

Yes, how do I know? Subjectivity is hard, if not impossible to escape. Maybe they fall into the role because they sense my expectations? How am I to know? I am quite sure I don't know anything, as Plato had his Master say.

I dunno. Just figured you might have another definition in english than I am used to. ;)

Thanks. I don't orka change it though. And I don't orka provide a translation of the word orka. :p

I'm not a homophobe.
It's funny how it has turned in a semantics discussion.
Anyway, I have a question from the first page. What's camp ?

So.. you're bi?

Who knows? I try not to label myself. But if you go by past experieces only, then I've done both.

But please, lets talk about homophobia instead of me.

No, let's talk about you! You've had sex with 300 men and you don't think you're gay. I find that incredibly fascinating.

:D That's a great interpretation! It must be fun living in you world; everything is outrageous all the time! Yay!

No, I meant that I have met 300-500 men that I have known to be gay. Although, I have had mostly superficial contact with most of them, like all past 100 perhaps, so I'll just edit the post to say that instead.

Well, ya showed me!

Too true. I just wonder sometimes if people don't hold certain stereotypes because that is exactly what they expect when they see a real person that fits in thier catagory...

I dunno. Just figured you might have another definition in english than I am used to. ;)

I think pretentsious is pretty much derrogatory in every sense of the word in English... :)

Ahh.. 300-500 went down to 100.. What other aspects of your story were exaggerated? ;)

This is far less fascinating than I initially mis-read.

And why would a straight guy have sex with men anyway?

My entire life is a hoax, isn't yours?

300-500 that I have met, but not associated with enough to fully confirm my prejudices, a 100 that I have associated with enough.

Straight? Who is straight? Just another label if you ask me, which it seems you would, considering my intelligence.

Seems possible. Maybe you could send some gaybashing lunatics over here so our jocks can have some stereotypes to live up to. We have far too little "interesting times" in Scania nowadays.

I suppose some use it as a label - I use it to refer to someone's sexual orientation.

I wouldn't be friends with a gay guy. BLut would be perfectly polite to a gay person that I see. Or wouldn't think defferently of peope that are gay.

It's a limit. I'm sexual and I've done both genders but there is still more I think I will enjoy doing, so I wouldn't be so quick jumping into the sack of bisexuality. I dislike the idea of orientations altogether.

But I won't be pernickity; for all practical purposes - assuming you are a progressed being capable of not condemning me to eternal bisexuality in thy mind on account of a one time admission - I am a bi who is still looking for more fun.

You wouldn't think differently of them but you wouldn't be friends with them. There's consistency.

But that makes people uncomfortable! They can't stand messes, you have to get back in your box. Otherwise you're one of the whiny pretentious attention-seekers you decried!

(I don't want to get in the box either. )
