What a bizarre practice.
What a bizarre practice.
Does Australia have a VAT or something like that instead of sales taxes? I figure it's more common in places with an externally-applied sales tax.
It does seem strange. I've never seen it before. What a bizarre practice.
It does seem strange. I've never seen it before.
But it seems quite sensible.
Dimes are handy if you need a screwdriver and don't have one.We don't use pennies anymore, but when we did - I never ever took money from the penny jar. Sometimes the lady at the till would do that for me, but I never did.
I hate change too, so I usually got rid of all of it, mostly into donation bins though - save for quarters, loonies, and toonies.
This leads me to believe that you never use pay phones... (they cost 50 cents in Alberta)Specifically, I don't use cash for any transactions where I can't round to the nearest $5.
Hmm. There's always going to be a lowest denomination of physical money, though. And that's your "penny".No it's not. The sensible thing would be to abolish pennies.
Give-A-Penny / Take-A-Penny
You know them. The little cups or trays near cash registers at stores. Do you tend to take more than you give? Do you give more than you take? Do you think you break even? Do you not have them in your part of the world?
INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!!!
