Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for European American compared to African American.

That is me, I suppose. Typical European.

After taking the test, I don't see how you (the opening poster) can equate "a strong automatic preference for one group" to "being a racist".

By the way, the test was wrong about "European Americans". There are far more native Americans than European Americans around here. Note for those who only understand political correctness: a native American is a person born in the US, a European American is a naturalized American citizen originally from Europe.

The test indicates whether you have a preference for one group over another. If it says you've got a preference, we're going to call that racism for the purpose of the poll. The test could be total bull, but it's something to work with. The poll is imperfect, but it's something to work with.

Mix terms if you like. Personally, I choose not to vote.

"Your data suggest little to no automatic preference between Other People and Arab Muslims."

My emotions, thoughts and feelings were useless, as I screwed up every once in a while on both sides. I didn't link any emotions to any faces. Most of this was motor skills and the ability to switch which categories you were working on faster...not necessarily how "evil" referred to one group or another.

I got a "slight prefrence for white people"

However, I feel all people are equal.

The test annoyed me, it said I had too many mistakes

They don't equate. They do often correlate. I probably shouldn't've equated them for the purpose of the poll, but it's not too much of a stretch.

By the way, the test was wrong about "European Americans". There are far more native Americans than European Americans around here. Note for those who only understand political correctness: a native American is a person born in the US, a European American is a naturalized American citizen originally from Europe.

By extension you're saying that African Americans are people who were born in Africa. Obviously that's not the most common usage. European American can mean either someone born in Europe and naturalized as a US citizen, or someone born in the US with European ancestry. It might not be your preferred usage, but it's not wrong.

Are you REALLY racist?

I won't take the test, but I've been called dumb, homophobe and other things on this forum. Why stop there? I gave up a long time ago anyway.

Edit: if you understand German, take a look at my sig. It's not there just to baffle you.

I was given a slight preference for white people over black Americans.

I have none either ideologically or in everyday dealings, but I imagine that there might be a subconscious preference in associating the faces which I know, and seem homely, with good words, and the strange faces not so much.

I haven't takne the test.

But from I can read the test is reacist because it doesn't consider latino people.

Hehe, I'm half-Latino, technically.

Your data suggest a moderate association of European American with American and Asian American with Foreign compared to Asian American with American and European American with Foreign.
What the hell is this?

I love picking some of the question to get these kinda results.:D

Slight preferance for white faces.

I didnt vote in the poll since the poll misrepresents the nature of the test.

"Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for European American compared to African American."

Couple of comments: I am not a racist, I just don't value all cultures equally. Cultural preferences do generate some prejudices towards ethnic groups but on the other hand all people have prejudices. On the terms that test uses I consider its result rather correct (testwise all prejudice is racial in nature).

I think the test is kind of dumb. During the White-Good part of the test there was a long sequence of items that belonged to same side which made it easier. The test is so short that randomization can cause huge variation on results (I found it faster to answer when similar items came in a row: text-text or picture-picture). Also it matters which changes sides in the middle of the test, ethnicity or alignment, and of course the order in which the associations are presented. And I made no mistakes :)
