Art and Lore

Here are ready Humans, Dwarves, Elves and Undead (all updated, recolored to the matching backgrounds, with stars for great persons). In my opinion they're ready for including into the mod.

I'll fix Demons and Lizardmen and upload them later.

Maybe, also I'll need to make an additional pack of Human pictures to be used for "Add Great Person" ability.

One thing I'd like: A Statesman specialist that matches. Only used for the Grigori, but it would stick out like a sore thumb without it... Only need a Human version, non-Grigori cannot get the specialist.
 
Will there be a great statesman? I guess in a way they would be the adventurers. Perhaps an option to settle adventurers as a great statesman to (probably greatly) increase the rate of adventurer spawning and provide a couple other minor bonuses.

Not as yet (Statesman gives no GP points, instead gives Adventurer points), but your idea about settling one is interesting... Will think about it. ;)
 
Alright, finally had time to make a pic for the new specialist sets. Made sure to keep them in the same order. ;)

Human (Base specialists, replacing the standard ones):

Just waiting on the Lizards/Demons, and then the Flavor Patch should be done... Testers have a copy of it now, testing the changed dll/python, so art can be thrown in VERY easily. ;)
 
Beautiful. The work you guys put in to even the smallest aspects of the game is incredible, it looks great :). Though it makes no difference to the game-play, the suitability of the interface is an appreciable part of any game.

Nope. Here's the changelog:


  • Version 1.54 of Erebus Continent.
  • Contains the Hotfix
  • Disables most of FlavorMod's features while running ErebusContinent.
  • Recolored Kelp Forest.
  • VSPavlov's Specialist icons; Covers the Dwarves, Elves, Lizards, Infernals, D'tesh, and Humans.
  • Bug fixes from Ornedan; Should hopefully fix many of the crashes, including the terraform crash.
  • Features added for ErebusContinent; Currently unsupported, waiting on a new version he's working on. ;)
    • New Reef feature: +1:hammers:, damages units on tile, increases movement cost, spawns in Coast/Ocean.
    • New Deep Ocean terrain: Same as Ocean, just graphical difference. Looks good, basically. :p
    • New Ancient Ruins improvement; City Ruins, cannot be sanctified.


Curiously, when will these interesting stuffs ready for us, the common people? :lol:

You should really try to upgrade to 2.54 of Erebus Continent. I hear it's got some cool stuff in it.

Also, it is nice to see a mod working in concert with a map like this. It can only make the game more fun for us all. :)
 
Will there be any poking at the animals/barbarians? I'm not sure if that's part of the hotfix. I've been trying to play Rife- I love some of the flavor ya'll have added- but I sadly keep getting my butt kicked. I know you guys are working on a ton, but I'd love to see even a small fix to make it less 'there are a million giant spiders waiting right outside my lands cackling at my misery'.

...Then again, I suppose I could just try a version with overload of AI's and all barb factions turned off, couldn't I? That might be interesting.

There's an unofficial fix by Draconian, IIRC it's posted in the bug thread, he has put togheter some tweaks and fixes from all around the forum, try it if you have not, I think it makes the game quite playable and could be just what you need while waiting for the Flavour patch.

If things keep being dire (for you or the AI) try some advanced starts... I usually despise the option, but I noticed that AI civs fare much better against the cruel Rife Wilderness...
