Probably the same reason a man would. Which for me was because I gave in to lust at a time of having doubts about my relationship.

True, but I would like to hear it from a woman's perspective (Mainly because I have been cheated on by other women) and I suspect the reason of "hearing it from a woman's perspective" is true for aneeshm.

Actually, due to the fact that I attended an all boys' school, that the nature of relationships between men and women is a lot less open to experimentation in India, due to the fact that it is only relatively recently that I am breaking out of a rather naive and counter-productive behaviour pattern, and due to the fact that I have never been involved in any sort of intimate sexual or emotional relationship with any member of the opposite sex at all, I'm almost completely clueless about female psychology.

I have also noticed that when it comes to patterns of attraction, I am usually attracted to three or four girls as the same time, but out of those, 75-80% of the attachment is towards one, 10-15% towards the second, and the rest among the third. The very thought of "cheating" is rather incomprehensible, it is alien.





Thus the question - how does this work in women?

You know,it annoys me that whenever i go to a web site such as Civfanatics and many others that have a good sounding reputation of having many intellectual debates,there will always be some chick who make it a "MySpace."Why can't there be more chicks that enter places such as this to engage serious topics instead of making trivial ones that revolve around a chick's ego?

youwannafight?! seriously tho, no ego. I get that massaged for me in real life regularly as for lack of intellectual debate... I get enough of that at uni. I'm trying to finish by chemistry degree, I like a bit of casual banter atm. during the summer when I get bored out of my brians.. THEN you can expect the big guns to come out.

Also, this question is more geared to a woman or girl who owns a cell phone. Why on Earth, especially on dates I have noticed as an observer, do they have a cellphone attached to their ear and seemingly just ignoring their date while talking to the person on the other line?

IMO, that is kind of rude, especially in a dating seen.

How damn rude. I have a friend who does this ALL THE TIME. we now have a 'no phones' rule, if we meet for lunch (or even a quick coffee) phones are off and in the bag. no excuses. most woman will take it quite well if you say something (with a smile) after she's hung up like "I'd really like to enjoy my evening with you without further interruptions. shall we both switch our phones off?"

Not true. Being young and a student the opportunity often arises. You still find other men attractive. You still have needs. I would satisfy myself with a flirt and exchange of names for facebook in case I should become single again soon! then I'd go home alone to bed and call my main man, tease him a little about getting chatted up and remind myself when I'm with him. Not everyone who can, does.
I'm finding, especially in my generation, that monogomy is making a comeback. So many of our parents divorced through cheating and we seem to be giving it a proper go. however it takes more to make us settle down as we know the temptation is big and it has to be worth it. anyone else agree?

Personally i agree. I see loads more **** buddies these days than people in serious relationships and allthough quite a lot of people complain about the lack of relationships (ill be a little sexist and say females- though this might be because not many lads will actually admit to another they want to settle down) they still sleep around. Though i think that not so much have people suddenly decided not to risk having a relationship in fear of temptations but that it has become more and more acceptable for a female to have had more sexual partners as say it wasn't 10-15 years ago.

i talk a lot, but it's not pointless blablabla. i actually have conversations that i'll get something out of. after 4pm tho i don't talk at all because i'm on the computer unless someone calls me.

Then it's even more wrong! A lot of men are intellectuals (i'm surprised in English this has a negative sound, here it's a honor to be called an intelectual by someone), a lot are writers, presenters, a lot more than women! I have no idea who made this up, but he/she didn't do a very good job.

well, i don't have a boyfriend, nor do i want one. if i kno i'll get away with it, and my significant other was teh suck, then yea i'd cheat. i'm kind of a sex addict tho.

its a false correlation that justifies her behavior in her own mind. "I cant help it if i cheat, Im a sex addict." it's just something young people do when they dont want to own up to responsibility or maturity.

you said 'heard'. i don't know how else you would hear it unless you read it outloud.
