Ask a muslim 3

I'm not an apologist for Islam, I just think the inheritance law makes sense in a society where men are the providers.

Get used to it Jojorah ;)

explanations often have to be repeated clearly and concisely to drum them in to the heads of ones inquirers. Furthermore one has to argue for their point in addition to simply laying it out, if you do not hold an argument and explain it, or if one otherwise fails to engage in a legitimate and reciprocal dialogue one quickly loses credibility.

Spoken from a truely good debator;)

If I weren't so strong in my faith, Jehoshua would have convinced me already:p

In all seriousness though, you do sometimes need to repeat stuff.

Some would call "so strong in my faith", obstinancy and hard-heartedness Dom ;)

Anyways Jojorah, I have given my (basic) advice and I suggest that you follow it. I'll sum it up in three directives, Call it the three pillars of CFC debating: :p

a) lay out your position
b) explain and elaborate on that position and why it is as it is and
c) defend your position in a reciprocal discussion

"Unless ye have the faith of one of these (Little children) shall not enter the kingdom of Heaven."

Wait, how did this get in Ask a Muslim? Stupid me, derailing everything!:p

I agree with the rest of Jehoshua's post.

Question to our local Muslims: Is every word in the Qu'ran literally true?

Why did God allow errors to get into his other Holy Books? (At least the Law of Moses and the Gospels from the Bible, but IIRC there are more.)

Jakaz Allah khair to my Christian brothers,

1.what i believe, yes, there are many scientific facts that also increase my imaam (faith), such as the shape of the earth, in the quran it told us its egg shaped, and that all living things are made from water.

2, good question, each prophet was sent to his people to prepare for the next prophet and add to the scripture, in islam, it is told that there has been a total of 21k messengers. Jesus (pbuh) was the prophet of love and mercy, as we all know, the bible was written by his followers, and contains many truths. But mankind has the ability to err, and as a test for the Christians and jews God sees if they can perserve the scripture as a test. Just like he tested the Muslims after the death of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh). In a way all religions are equally corrupted, islam was corrupted from the inside out. But as it says in the Holy quran

"truth should stand clear from error".

just a little side note, i just realized i forgot to answer the whole, "salvation" question, its very simple, God knows what lies in your heart and can forgive you
