Ask a Russian

There are two possible explanations.
Either Russians tend to fall out of windows disproportionally more often than everybody else.
Or events like that involving Russians tend to be reported disproportionally more often.
Which one do you think is more likely?
IIRC, there was a passage in War and Peace where a Russian soldier successfully drinks a bottle
of vodka while standing on a 3rd story window ledge.
I suspect that not all attempts by others were quite as successful. :)

Geography question.

Looking at videos of the trans Siberian or even trains to Vorkuta in the Komi republic.

There's lots of lakes, rivers, water etc.

So has their been any attempts at tourism to places like that? Or are they just to remote, undeveloped and to make pleasant with insects etc. I guess one tract of soggy tundra looks much the same as another.

Here there's lots of rest stops and camping sites near the rivers and lakes. There's buildings etc here and there but I'm guessing they're abandoned.

From places like that, Kamchatka, Karelia and Baikal are tourist destinations.
If someone said "I'll have vacation in Vorkuta", people would understand it as he is going to prison.

Wasn't Vorkuta but the train ride to Vorkuta.

I know about Baikal and Kamchatka tourism. A few NZers have gone over there to work in adventure tourism in Sochi and guides in Siberia.

Kamchatka looks great.

Why do Russians have such a problem with falling out of windows?
It could be worse. In a recent remake of Sherlock Holmes, a man who assaulted Mrs Hudson
accidentally fell out of a 3rd story window, twice. :)

I booked a table at the perfect place for our special day in a couple of weeks.
(50 years since we started going out together; 30 year wedding anniversary.)

So, Krasny, would anything from their menu appeal to a Russian?

Alpaca shanks? :)

Hard to choose, many dishes seem good :)
Wild venison, probably.

Hard to choose, but I'm certain of one thing.
If I used "Alpaca Shanks" as a term of endearment for my (feminist lawyer) wife,
it would be my last meal ever!

The most kiwi Russian beer I've fouund. Similar to some brands here but smoother.

Match for the crown, 3 out of 14 games, 3 draws so far.
People say, Dubai is full of Russians now, because Emirates recognize Sputnik certificate. Hope the virus will recognize and respect it too.

Do they swap jackets every game? :)

Do they swap jackets every game? :)
There are sponsors names on their jackets, swapping will be too costly :)
Carlsen today played black and was in black jacket. White one was a bit unlucky for him, yesterday Nepo had a little advantage and had a chance to win.

Who is more popular in Russia now: Vladimir Zhirinovsky or "Leader of the Opposition", Alexey Navalny?
