Stalin appreciates that Australia gave him a wombat for Christmas, but they forgot to send a womball.

Wombats getting better treatment than a zek.
I guess that some Soviets believed that Nazi lives don't matter.

I'd also be very wary of just singling out Stalin.
There were propaganda reasons from hardliners, both in the USSR and the USA, to make him appear to be either an infallible Party leader, or a dictator solely responsible for whatever pitch was likely to succeed in the West. They pile all the praise, or all the blame, on a single man because dumbsters on both sides are easily swayed that way.

It's the same mistake fools make about Putin, believing that he rides around on the equivalent of a magic bear and imposes his personal will on every corner of Russia all by himself. But believe in the one big man idea if you like - it makes your side easier to defeat. :P
(Incidentally, I'm not a Stalinist: The Communist Party of Australia severed ties with the USSR's commies after 1956 because militaristic methods have no relevance here.)

Just in case anyone needs a reference about Stalin's leadership, here's one from the CIA, for what it's worth. :)

I didn't know there was such a thing as The Communist Party of Australia - sounds very exotic, can't be a great success, or is it :D
Not Australia, we're now at the levels of development where it is about the Party. Are you questioning its wisdom?!

They had to refound here and rebrand. There's an International Socialist group at the local uni. They like handing out Marx literature.

I suppose Communist is a nicer tag than incel.

There's still a Communist Party of Canada

[...] the effects of climate change, from droughts to hurricanes to floods to forest fires. These effects are devastating the developing countries of the global south, but they are also wreaking havoc in imperialist countries, as evidenced by the recent mass floods and mudslides in BC.

I like that :D

That will teach them - the bloody Imperialists of British Columbia.

I got a Russian recipe cookbook for Christmas and looking over it, man, the various pelmeni/vareniki sound super tasty, but then I envision having to cut out all those dough circles. I may need to track down my parents deep fryer for the piroshki.

Are you incapable of formulating your current emotional state or do you think that is a sufficient level of respect to people who answer your questions?

Ok then how accurate is this article? I've read about looking into thing like the graves locations aren't exactly encouraged.

From blogs:
"Now there are special thermometers for kids, with cute animals and stuff, to reduce anxiety. In my Soviet childhood - here, take this thermometer, if you break it mercury will spill, you will die and everybody in the house will die, so get well!"
