ask a transman anything

Very well done. Allthough "good enough for tv", I'm not sure that really is saying something about the quality of the video when I compare it too what's on tv nowadays. ;)

I do want to ask though, has the video been cut in places to make it fit the site's maximum length or something? It sometimes breaks the flow, which can be a little distracting.

Yes it has, it is almost like a trailer. Part of the artistic editing. Living you wanting for more.

They are pods, small informational pieces that are placed on current cable tv.

Thanks for watching

So men actually have more intense orgasms than women? Really?
Well women do fake it though. ;)

I have heard of tantric sex where you can have sex and the goal is not to ejaculate, but I think you can still have orgasms though. I am no expert on that subject though.

Hello Mark,
I found this message board while searching for imformation on google. I do see that there hasnt been any activity here in some months, but I figured there is no harm in trying. There is so much to explain and so much I want to ask that I dont even know where to begin...
Ill start with a brief explanation. I am a very small, very femininely built 28 yr. old woman. I am attracted to men. I have been married to men (twice) and I have biological children. Ever since I was a small child I have had a fascination with male genitalia, and a general disinterest in my own. In highschool I used to joke that I was just a big gay man in a little girls body. However over the years it has become less funny and mostly just sad. I find sex unsatisfying. Even with an orgasm sex still leaves me feeling empty. Consistantly for about the last five years I fantasize on a nightly basis that I am abducted by aliens who use their superior technology to transplant my brain into a mans body. And sometimes when im home alone I just sit by myself and cry. (ok, i guess that wasnt as short as i had hoped.)
What I was searching for on the internet (and failed to find) Is information on how gender reasignment surgery affects your sex life. How large can an artificial penis be? How realistic does it look? How does it feel to you? How hard does it get? How do you achieve an erection? What are the challenges of sex post op?
This is my first step in confronting my "situation" and I realize there are much bigger issues to deal with. Sometimes it just seems to me like it may just be easier to continue "playing the role". I mean, how attractive could a 5'4" 100 pnd man really be? And would I really feel any more like a man if I had to "pump up" my penis to get it hard? Or would I still feel like Pinochio, wishing on every shooting star i see for my fairy godmother to come and make me a real boy...
Im going to be crossing my fingers and hoping that you happen to read this. I am very much looking forward to conversing with you.
Thank you.

Sex reasignment surgery is still in its infintile stage, science needs to advance more to create a genital that will bring satisfaction to the patient. Although it has improved, one still does not ejaculate or get hard without an implant. You may still have orgasms if they leave the orgasmic nerve in place, and hope it doesnt get damaged. The hormone therapy is what creates the major changes of the physique and psyche. I look and feel like a man minus the pluming. check out my latest performance

i certainly hope that isn't a video of you having an orgasm:mischief:

I have a question for Mark.

You might take this as rude, and believe me, it's not intended to be, it's a serious question.

Why do you change your sex? And even if it's because you think you're the other sex, what gives you the right to do so? Were you not born the way you are for a certain reason?

For example, if I thought I was African American, why can I not just change my skin color?

What gives someone the right to prevent someone to do so? And "reason" for being born in some way implies some sort of supernatural or higher power; personally I'm an atheist...

For example, if I thought I was African American, why can I not just change my skin color?
The difference is that skin colour is just that, people don't seem to be born with any sense of skin colour in terms of what their brain identifies with. But people do seem to be born with an innate sense of gender, which sometimes is not matched to their physical sex.

First of all I suggest you go to the begining of this thread where all those questions have been answered. Second if you are really interested look into my You Tube account where I have taken the time to educate our backwards society who are still stuck on the belief of Adam and Eve. There is more to gender than meets the eye. Gender and sex have two distinct meaning. You cannot compare your race with your gender. You cannot change your race, but due to natures hickups, 1 out of 100 babies are born with some form of gender and sex anamoly. It really irritates me to see such ignorance, and I am not picking on you, but its usually the religious sector that has that kind of mentality. They are lacking the fluidity and knowledge of fetal development. What gives me the right you ask, just as anyone has the right to fix a birth defect, I have the right and the ability to do so. Because we have free will and the knowledge.

If you were born crossed eyed would you not want to get your eyes corrected, if you were born deaf would you not want to hear? Being born in the wrong body is a biological condition. Now, thanks to modern technology those individuals with gender dysphoria are able to correct their gender/sex misalignment.

Gender is subject to a continuum due to the hormonal influx during 8 weeks gestation. Did you know that we all start out life as a female fetus? Our brains and default system are female, it is not until 8 weeks time when androgen, if the Y chromosome is present, changes the female system to male. But due to endocrine disrupting chemicals, medication or just plain stress, the communication between receptor and genes become faulty, which causes a variety in Gender Identity. I suggest you educate yourself, and yes I did take offense, first by your comparison to race, and second to your thinking of me being born a certain way for a reason. So if your child was born disabled would you leave him or her that way without treatment because they were born that way for a reason?

Think before you speak, your mentality is causing many young people to kill themselves.

Please do not make such generalization. :) Think about how many people are religious, in the world. None knows anything about fetal development?

I agree with you about the "right to change your gender", but I do not agree with this part at all. The human brain is not female until 8 weeks old, it is a genderless protobrain. A protobrain =/= a female brain. That is a stupid thing to say, actually. And yes, I am religious and I do know "several things" about fetal development.

The generalization is cruel but true. Most religious people believe in the bible which teaches them black or white, no shades of grey. They do not take the time as most people to learn the truth about fetal development. Even your self, thinking that the brain is a proto brain, well you are wrong. You are saying that what I said was stupid, well here is a link where the scientist say it:
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Books/story?id=2274147&page=1&gma=true

Now, I suppose you are going to call them stupid. Do you see how I prove my point on religious people. Black or white, genderless brain huh? You obviously know very little about fetal development. I suggest you educate yourself further. Also enter my website which is located on my signature area here on this forum. I suggest you peruse the links that have many informative research.

Mirc is right. A brain that hasn't had the chance to be male because it has yet to reach the point where male and female differentiate is no more female than male.

The fact that becoming a man requires a signal to activate, without which the foetus will be biologically female, does not mean that until that signal the foetus is female. It means that the sex has yet to be determined.

Female is the default sex, but not the original one, from which men develop.

What colour is your dildo?

No, go into the link I provided. The brain will only change if it is bathed with androgen. If it is not, then it continues as a female brain. Now there are many case scenarios that take place. Let say we have a fetus with XX chromosome, but the sry gene has incorrectly been attached to the X chromosome you will then, have an androgenic affect. Which means now a female protype will develop as male even though they have female DNA. Another scenario is the pregnant mother was given medication which altered the uteral enviroment, created excess androgen, the fetus brain will be altered.

So, you cannot go by the chromosomes, there are many females who are XY, as there are many males who are XX. It's all about the hormones and timing. Female is the original one according to science and the latest research.

It's not true that "most" religious people believe in the Bible; apart from anything else that would apply only to Christians and Jews, and even then, there are plenty who do not think that everything in the Bible is true. I suspect you have a rather skewed view of religious people given the prominence of the "religious right" in the US; but they are not typical of Christians, let alone of religious people in general, certainly in the western world. It seems to me that bigotry is found all over the place more or less equally irrespective of religious affiliation.

I just searched the thread and discrimination didnt come up, so heres my question.

Have you been discriminated against much, and which groups did so most?

Also...about your urethra, was it relocated? If so, man that surgery was complicated...
