ask a transman anything

The answer didnt confuse me at all. It was actually enlightening. :)

When you asked that I actually thought, I have a sausage*! :smug: :D

*sausage because I think its againt the rules to say the correct word.

Okay, that was not the question. I didnt ask what you had between your legs. If you were to get into a terrible car accident and lose your " sausage" would that stop you from being a man? My question to you was ,what do you feel like a man or a woman? Aside from the equipment, and any bodily components. What does your brain tell you, your essense, the feelling of you? Go past the material, and bodily components and go into the spiritual you, the person.

There is more to life than our genitals. Your likes, dislike, dreams, feelings, et. That which makes you, you.

Honestly dig deep inside your soul, who are you? What do you identify as, forget the waist down, look inside your heart, soul and mind.

Thats the question? Once, you answer that truthfully, and actually get the feeling of who you are, then and only then, can you relate to how I, and other transsexuals feel. Our brains, hearts and soul is our identity, our genitals are secondary characteritics from the hormonal bathing that took place inside our mothers womb at 8 weeks gestation. Our brains lacking the androgen, were default as female brains. Only when the SRY gene communicated to release androgen did that brain get programed to feel, what you feel, that essense of male.

I hope I have been able to explain this to you.

Very deep stuff. I think it makes sense now. :)

Sorry about not understanding your other question.

How did your taste on food changed? Do you like meat more than veggies now?
I wonder the same, have you gone off the chocolate and cheese, and like more meat now?
This, btw, is just the "average" male/female food divide, so maybe it's not applicable to you, seeing that you've been a bit "messed up". ;)

Interesting thread, thanks for sharing.

That's Okay, it is what society has programed us to think and believe. That we are our genitals. Genitals do not make one a man or a woman. The brain, the gender center is what creates a person, their personality, their likes and dislikes.

What sets us apart from animals is our ability to think and reason. Sometimes I feel we forget that, and continue with a reflexive, non compassionate attitude towards our being.

Not everyone is meant to procreate, and although this was once a command from our maker," Now go and multiply". We are far from being under populated, and in risk of over population. But our function as humans are far greater than to make babies, which we know our genitals are an important tool for that. We owe each other respect, understanding, compassion and over all unconditional love, none of which require genitals. The sex and procreation part of life, is only a small part of the master plan.

I am sorry I have rambled on, and I definetly am not comming down on you or anyone. It's just thoughts that I have to put out there and share with you all. This is a point that many of the religious bunch try to make, and condem those that do not have the same vision as them. The world does not revolve around one bible and one God. God is many things to many people. As we plainly see with the numerous organized religions we see in our world.

My friend, I thank you for your questions and allowing me to dig in deep inside my soul and bringing forth my passion and views to the world. This is what life is all about, living.........:)

When I was femaled bodied and had estrogen flowing through my veins. Food was my comfort and friend. I craved sweets, heavy sauced foods and my world revolved around eating. I really did not care much about my physical health, for I care not about me. Self hatred can lead to distruction.

Now, I honor my self and my body. I eat healthy, so red meat is not something I eat often. I do enjoy a nice thick filet mignon every now and then though. I no longer crave sweets or fatty foods. I do eat lots of veggies and salads, but it's because I want to stay in shape and live a long life.

I don't have the need to talk as I use to. I am now more into writing and thinking. I feel men are of few words, woman have a need to speak. I am not trying to be stereo typical here, but its an observation I have made from my life. I do not cry in a drop of a hat as I use to. My emotions are more in check than before.

Testosterone does increase your appetite for food, sex, and focus. I am not as good in multi tasking as I use to be. LoL, its like invasion of the body snatchers, I am definetly a different person, body and mind.

Yes, I don't crave chocolate any more, but I do like my occasional piece of cheese every now and then. Let me let you in on a little secret. Most men now a days have so much estrogen in their system from the hormones in our environment, that they pretty much have the same craving for certain foods like females.

Most men have breast, and a female shape, just look around. Atleast here in the states they do. Estrogen is produced not only by ovaries, but also from your adrenal glands and other endocrine glands. Fat cells produce estrogen receptors. This is one of my biggest drive to stay lean. I don't want estrogen in my system. We do need a little of it, but I try to minimize it as much as possible.

As I have mentioned in one of my earlier posts, hormones are everything. They control our thinking, our shape, our sex drive, and our physical sex
( genitals, reproductive organs and gonads). This is why men develop breast when they become over weight, fat cells create estrogen, estrogen activates breast tissue. Hormones in milk, meat, pesticides, all create excess estrogen in our bodies.

I have had the raw end of the deal, but I do not consider my self messed up. Nature had a way of changing the program on me, but thats okay, I am a better person for it, and I am able to help people understand many things in life.

It's all about balance, yin and yang, walking through life with a deeper understanding of what is around us. To learn to appreciate what we have, to share ourselves with others, and over all be compassionate and understanding of the next guy.

Life is many things to different people, we are so much alike, yet our differences keep us apart, instead of bringing us together and rejoice.

Was it all a big ploy to get out of shaving your legs? ;)

Okay you got me. It was all about the shaving...

Although now a days, it seems most men do a lot of body shaving. I don't get it. My brother hates body hair on himself. So he shaves. No his not gay, he has a girl friend.

He ask me how I can handle all my body hair. My answer is, it took a heck of a lot of Testosterone shots to grow this fur on my body, I will be dammed if I am going to shave it off. I literally look like a bear, back and all. But I like my hair, I am a proud bear.......

Just thought I'd say what a great thread this is. Thanks for making it, Mark Angelo. Very sensible discussion from everyone. Anything that makes people more aware of such things is to be encouraged.

I had a friend at university who later became a transwoman. Although really I should say that he was a transwoman even then, but he was still physically a man. Call him X to remove confusion. It's slightly odd because X never gave the slightest indication that, mentally, he was female. I didn't know him particularly well and lost touch after university, but a mutual friend stayed in touch throughout X's "coming out", as it were, and the operation. I've never met X since then and find it hard to imagine him as a woman. But our friend's husband has only known X since the operation, and knows her only as a woman, and can't imagine her as a man! Judging by pictures, she looks much better as a woman than as a man.

I suspect that society here in Britain is kinder to transexuals than in the US, partly because this is a far less religious country (although sensible religious people would have no problem with it, in my view). However, I believe it is harder from a legal point of view. You cannot legally change your sex in Britain, so the only way a transexual could legally marry is if they are also gay, or if they marry another transexual, if you see what I mean.

I agree it has been an amicable and inspiring forum. It gives me hope for the future of our world. If only our politicians, religious groups, and society would learn from what has gone on this forum. The world would be a better place. Communication is the key to everything. As far as your friend, there are many times transsexuals will hide their true feelings, because of fear of rejection. So we learn to play along with roles society wants us to play. I know I did for a very long time. After awhile it gets harder to play the game, and you die inside and lose a piece of you every day.

Is'nt bizzare that England accepts it more openly, yet, the legalities are still behind. However, legally, we have made strides in the US, but morally and socially it's still not accepted. Go figure. I hope that one day, the world will understand, and no one will have to suffer feeling trapped in the wrong body, or being discriminated for being different.

This world is big enough for all of us. We are ships passing in the night, all so different, yet so alike. We just want to be understood and loved. Respect is something everyone should be able to feel. Unconditional love should be the law of the land. All we can do is keep wishing and praying to that source that some call God. Whatever the diety we believe in, I just wish he/she would get its head out of the ground and start making this a better world and place to live in. How many more deaths and suffering does there have to be for it to stop.

Of course it is. Check out Miriam Rivera She was on a reality tv programme in the Uk where 6 hetro guys had to compete for a date with her, without knowing she had a meat and two veg between her legs. They contestants ended up sueing the TV company for £300,000 each.

Mark... in the most complimentary way possible... you look like a Trans-gorilla! ;)
Did you intend to gain that much body hair by taking the maximum testosterone dose, or was just that how things turned out?

Xanikk, She never had the operation! She still has male genitals, and I think she's happy just as she is.

Mark, I also thing what you're doing is great. I imagine a lot of transgender people would be so relieved to finally be themselves, that they'd hide their origins and just dissapear into society. Its great you're promoting acceptance. You're kinda preaching to the choir in my case though. I became very accepting of transexuals after I fancied the pants of Nadia Almada from Big Brother in the UK. :D Despite her origins, she's aaaallllllllll woman!!! :D (and she won the series as well!)

Well, Kinda. It says in her wiki article that miriam was taking hormones from the age of 11, so that would have put a stop to her male puberty Like mark said, so that's gonna help her a lot. She had breast implants, but the hormones do a hell of a lot as well. If she stopped her puberty, then her shoulders and jaw wouldn't have broadened, her voice wouldn't have dropped, and she wouldn't have got all the body hair that guys are meant to get at that time. It pretty much is like majik.

As far as Nadia Alamada, she started her transition a lot later. Theres photos of her about when she was a man with a beard. Her jaw and shoulders are quite broad, and she's arguably more masculine looking than Miriam but then really... when her feminine features are so prominant, who's looking at her shoulders:mischief:
Inspite of what you say, you can still see that those two women clear men who are trying to be women, at least Mark does look like a guy and thus it is very unlikely to not say that he might be a woman, but those two examples of transsexual women, do not fully look woman like, although Miriam is way better than Nadia. I have seen Nadia before because she was unfortunately on Australian BB and it was quite gross watching her in a bikini on National TV. It was very obvious that she was born a he. And that is the problem with Transsexuality, especially for men who want to become women because it is so much harder to go from masculinity to femininity because males are generally bigger in most ways than women and thus trying to get smaller from being bigger is much harder than the other way, as we can clearly see by looking at Mark. He most definitely looks male. As you can se he has gone from a small MAC to a Big MAC. ;) Bad pun, I know.

So now here are some questions for you.
Have you ever thought about looking at the other foras on this site? There is so much more about this site than just OT and you would be wasting you time here if you did not do some exploration here.

What are your favourite sports and teams?

Do you know how to properly use the Multi quote function on this site? If you do then please use it to make the mods much happier. If you do not then follow this handy help. This is a neat tool that helps you when you want to quote multiple posts, as it implies. To use it all you have to do is hit the button next to quote and then when you have gotten as few and as many posts you want, you go the last post you want to quote and then you get all to reply to and presto.

Indeed it has to be said that your thread has really expressed very well your opinions and in a consistent and well explained manner. These are the sort of threads that'll keep people coming back to off topic. :goodjob:

England is a pretty liberal country, as are most in Europe, also any scientific case has to be acknowledged, OK it may take time, science is a slow beast sometimes, but if it's found to be a physiological issue and not a mental illness then there is no reason it's any different from say Down's syndrome in that sense. And should and is treated for free on the NHS. Of course much psychological treatment is free as well, if you can't pay you don't have to, but that's kind of beside the point.

I am going on vacation for one week. Cruising to the eastern Carribean. When I get back I will look throught the different forums, and shime in. I enjoy football, Hockey, boxing, and tennis. My favorite teams are New York Yankees, The Marlins, The Dolphins, Jets, The panthers. I dont get much time to watch TV. I do a lot of research on the computer, and pretty much work seven days a week. 5 days at my gym, I am a trainer, nutritionist, and Occupational Therapist. My wife and I keep pretty busy. The other 2 days a week, we dedicate to making the documentary that we are working on. Plus advocating and educating on trans issues. Thank you for the inservice on the quotes reply. I will remember to use it next time when I am answering several quotes.

Thank you every body for being so kind and respectful. I wont have a computer on the ship, nor will I want to do any work while I am on vacation. My mind needs a rest.

Cheers

Europe is generally much more open and, dare I say it, advanced about such things than the US. The most obvious example is attitudes to homosexuality. Think of when George Michael came out and had that business with the publid toilet. It destroyed his career in America, but if anything helped it in the UK, where it rather endeared him to people. I think it's much the same with transexuality. The only people who would be prejudiced against transexuals are the same who would be prejudiced against gay people, and thankfully they are definitely in the minority in this country.

It's interesting, though, to see how things are different elsewhere. I spend a lot of time in Singapore, and in that part of the world there are a lot of transexuals. If you go over to Malaysia you do see plenty of male to female transexuals, and presumably there are far more than that, given that you'd only spot the fairly obvious ones. It's just normal. And yet, of course, homosexuality isn't acceptable in that society. So the comparison doesn't hold everywhere.

I just showed Mark's picture to my girlfriend, and she commented that not only did she not realise that the transformation could be so complete, but I'd better take the picture away before she started preferring him to me!

I everyone, hope everyone is doing good. I have not popped in because I have been crazy busy. I produced this video, and wanted to share it with you. Please view it and give it a green light to get it on tv

Very well done. Allthough "good enough for tv", I'm not sure that really is saying something about the quality of the video when I compare it too what's on tv nowadays. ;)

I do want to ask though, has the video been cut in places to make it fit the site's maximum length or something? It sometimes breaks the flow, which can be a little distracting.

Do you tell most people you know this? Or are most people you know and work with unaware of your "transition"?

Are you religious?

5) cannot ejaculate since, I have no testicles. But I do have orgasms. Its wild, ever since I have transitioned, my orgasms are out of this world.
So men actually have more intense orgasms than women? Really?
