Sorry, but I think it will be Hell for you, if you demand that Heaven meet your standards.
What the hell is the point of heaven if it doesn't meet your standards?

Whats the point of standards, if in 'heaven' theres no such thing as 'you'?

Heaven isn't yours to shape. If you asked, for example, silver 2039 for his idea of heaven, it would probably involve torturing the men and having sex with all the hot women. Not exactly heaven for everyone involved, and I doubt silver would be equally happy beating up on dummies.

Narz, you seem to have confused heaven with the partial fulfillment of the vices of gluttony, lust and greed. That should be explanation enough.

Give up your sorrows. Give up your sins. Jesus is willing to carry all of them onto the cross, but only if you give them to Him. I believe that Heaven is the joy of knowing that nothing of Hell will ever touch you again.

My idea of heaven and hell if such a thing existed:

Heaven: Eternally happy and content; surrounded by friends & family
Hell: Eternally alone; no contact, not even bad contact

As I've said before, the first quote in your sig is Confucius ;)

I remember a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode where Spike asks Buffy if she was being tormented. She responds that she was warm, and safe, and loved. She thought it was heaven. Then she was jerked back to here, which was cold, and hard, and violent.

Content has no need of an opposite. If I were to imagine a heaven based on what I have experienced, it would be that sensation when just waking, where you have no worries, no pain, just a floating fulled out feeling.

Hell is easy incomparison, because things can always get worse. If you look at the parables of Jesus, he describes a hell of starvation, fear and being preyed apon. In hell, you have no control, and what you need, is unavailable. I always thought an addict would understand hell the best.

I think Heaven is, quite simply, the dwelling place of God. I believe the passages referring to a New Earth and New Jerusalem are literal. Humans are physical beings, why would we exist in a solely spiritual universe?

I think the afterlife for Christians, Heaven, will be life in a universe uncorrupted with sin, including sin in us. God will dwell on Earth, and we will worship Him.

I think we'll still do plenty of the things we do here: Eat, drink, play sports if we want to, (Civ 4! :goodjob: ) fellowship with friends, read books, etc. I doubt that we'll just stand in place and sing hymn's for all eternity, although it's possible. There will be no sin there, but many things we do are fun and not sinful; why couldn't we enjoy them there?

As for animals, there will be animals on the New Earth. I don't know if they'll be the same, as in we'll have our old pets back though.

I think of Hell less as a place of actual fire and lava and whatnot, and more as a place of eternal loneliness and despair. After all, without God, what would sinful humans make of any world? Hell. That's basically what Hell is, absence from God's presence.
