Assume there IS a heaven and Hell after death, imagine what its like.

When I was younger (When I was still Lutheran) I imagined Heaven as being synonymous with "hyperspace," basically outside the universe, and being in a state of omniessence and omnipresence.

Well, since there's no animals there must be no cows and without cows where would we get the cheese for the pizza?
It's heaven, just say "I want cheese" and voila!

Old joke: :D

Heaven =
American standard wages but Chinese standard cost of living,
a Japanese wife,
French chefs,
German mechanics,
British police,
Swiss politicians,
and your lover is an Italian.

Hell =
Chinese standard wages but American standard cost of living,
a Japanese house,
British cooks,
Italian mechanics,
German police,
French politicians,
and your lover is Swiss.

I think I've managed to offend everyone.

Not me, I'm Canadian, one country you didn't take a shot at!

Heavan: you are a god in and of your self and you get to create your own worlds.... I wouldn't be suprised if god had a god either and we exisit only in his mind and his in his and his in hers etc etc
Yes, that's what I said, you create your own worlds! You can even go to them and live in them as a local and have no idea your the god of the world. That's my belif.

To me, alot of Christian ideas of heaven seems like hell;)

I like my sex and drugs and rock n roll:D Hell would be none of those!

Heaven is simply the joy of being with God, and hell the pain of being shut off from God. Unity with God is the greatest joy, therefore heaven must be that and hell the opposite.

Heaven = lots of food, never get full, lots of sex, never run out of... um, juice. always friends around, always coming up with cool, fun creative projects and everyone's willing to help you. games galore. you can run for hours without losing breathe. air is so pure that every breathe is an absolute delight. you can talk to animals. everything is beautiful, magical. everything flows, no dead air, dry spells, as in a wonderful dream. you can change your mental state instantly, effortlessly without alcohol or other stimulants/depressents. people like you and you like them. lots of laughter and gaiety (in the olden sense).

hell = I don't believe it in.

Oh, and in the off chance you get bored in heaven (mind you though there's enough variety to keep you happy for as long as you want) you can always get reborn into the body of your choice. You can plan it out beforehand or just take the plunge. The only catch is that you must forget all about your past life and also heaven. You must forget everything of the spiritual realm and put your life completely into the hands of those you were be born too. It is somewhat of a moral testing ground here on Earth and your fellow heavenites will look at you somewhat the way we Earthlings look at those in a Polar Bear club (those crazy dudes who jump in lakes in the wintertime), with a mixture of "why the hell do they put themselves thru that" and "wow, he's got balls, I'd like to try that at least once!".

What would make sense to me is for Heaven to be personal for everyone who gets there. That is, your Heaven would depend on what you like and what you want to see. Since the basic "idea" of Heaven is being a place where everyone can be happy, it would require for it to be different for everyone.

I expect that for most people, it would be something quite similar to Earth, just without the negative things, like crime, wars, illness, etc. The details would depend on the person. For a traveller and an adventurer, there would be an infinite amount of places to explore. For another person it would mostly be a house in a nice place, with his loved ones, and a huge library, for example. For someone else, it would be full of stadiums with the best football teams. It would really shape itself according to what makes every specific person happy.

Other possibilities don't really make much sense to me. Imagine a Heaven which is beautiful nature, animals, clean air, where you hang out with people, can play sports for however long you wish without getting (too) tired, and such. Sounds good? Maybe. But for a person who wants to be alone or with maybe 2-3 his closest people, who always preferred staying at home cooking and reading books, that wouldn't be a happy place. So accordingly such a person would have to get what they like.

Heaven is when you've decided to forgive and forget everything that was making you unhappy.

You don't need heaven for that, I've never done it though, but I hear it's possible not to have some sort of baggage ask a budhist.

Heaven would be just like Earth, all the same crap but without any of the effect of such crap, you could exist in any environment you wanted create any reality and have it work any way, and if running down your imaginary street gunning down your enemies was your bag then, what's it matter they are all illsuionary anyway. No harm no foul. Kind of like an unlimited lucid dream. Of course interacting with the real souls would be fundemental but without real pain death or suffering there'd be no real point in harming anyone. Essentially it'd be like being God but without the material side to worry about in life. One uneneding playground, and hey if you got bored of playing creation you could always do some work on Earth as an Angel.

Hell: just a temporary holding cell for sinners, most'll end up in heaven eventually, it's not some exclusive gentlemans club like it is in religion, there are prerequisits but anyone can make them given enough time and will.

Interesting that you should decribe it that way. That is somewhat similar to the LDS view of what hell is. It is also similar to hell the way that CS Lewis described it in his book The Great Divorce, where anyone could leave hell anytime they wanted and go to heaven, but most refused.

That sounds good. And if you want you could always visit your friend's heaven if you wanted a break from your own. :)

I think I would become very unhappy in Heaven. Assuming that everyone is "good" and behaving "good" it would be a very boring place.
There are people on earth that I deeply dislike and if they go to Heaven (assuming I'm there as well) then either I am going to do bad stuff to them (not possible in Heaven) or I and him will be different and if I am not myself does that mean that it is really me that went to heaven or simply a soul-double ???

And no Hell for me please either. Too crowded.

Exactly why I'm saying that Heaven would be something different for everyone. For example, to avoid situations when you have to be around people that you deeply dislike.

Heaven is where I can be enlightened, sublime and all that good stuff. Where I can find Inner peace and be happy at the life I have lived.

That, and a good deal of sex, music, love, fun and laughter would make my heavenly citadel come to life.

Thats because Canada = Purgatory maybe?
Hmm, purgatory's not too bad then.

If there is a heaven, it is all the joy you could ever imagine, and spiritual fulfillment. I don't really think about it, I'll accept a surprise should it be true.

Sorry, but I think it will be Hell for you, if you demand that Heaven meet your standards. It sounds like you would want to go there without forgiving those you dislike.
