Athenian Democracy

Convert: 0

Don't Convert: 1

Behead them: 1

@Ilduce- No, we still need to get the Iron. We didn't get any bronze early so we needed to wait. We should be able to at least consider DOWing Rome next update.

Don't convert. NO. But don't behead them, either.

Behead them. Sparta rules.

Also, beingf left doesnt mean you dislike liberty. Hippies are left, and they dont dislike it. But being right wing doesnt mean that either. Left/right wing is on a whole different scale than the authoritarian/libertarian one. See the political compass.

Also, dom NY isnt very liberal at all. Especially in NYC, but in alot of other places too.

This political debate is irrelavent to the game.

Caesar does it matter? As long as we include something on topic in our posts, i thinbk it doesnt. Unless domination has a problem with it.

Dom do your homework next time!

I do know the difference, however my opinion is that you have to be libertarian AND right wing to support liberty.

And, NYC is liberal to me, and most Americans I know of.

In theory its fine, and what you've done is fine, however, for now I'm gonna ask to take this debate somewhere else as it is clogging the thread. No offense.

No such thing as a mayor in Athens. You'd be one of the proedroi, or the epistatēs - positions that, you know, rotate.

Well, they can't rotate as I hold the tiebreaker vote, however I don't vote unless there's a tie.

I'll add the voting tally in a minute.

EDIT: Only 1 person for conversion, 3 against conversion, 3 for a beheading.

I'll leave it open until either 2 more people vote or tomorrow, whichever is first.

You do realize that if you call it Athenian Democracy, you really should put some of the ATHENIAN things in it. Otherwise call if Direct Democracy with Greece.

That's why I called it Athenian Democracy because I was being Greece.

Its not important. Athenian Democracy didn't start in 4000 BC either.

Well some people come in thinking ooh "Athenian Democracy" but instead get "Direct Democracy in Greece".

You should have included ostracism as well. What's Athens without it?

Your opinion is incorrect then. You are saying hippies do not want liberty, and that is VERY wrong. Of course theer are left wingers like stalin and castro and obama that show the authoritarian side of it. But thats not the only side, just like a right winger like hitler can go against liberty. There are two sides of it.

First of all, I didn't say right-wingers can't be against liberty (Even though Hitler was left as he is more "Centrist" than Obama.

Enough about RL politics though, go to my thread for that in OT. This is for the game. Any more RL politic posts that I feel have overstepped the line will be reported.

Cull is right. If you are going to name it as it is, it should be like the system that was in athens. Not regular direct democracy, which may hve been the base of athen's system, but it had unique stuff too.
