Marked tiles are Alice Springs on England's CNM. Only one that is settle-able is on the lake. I'm just the messenger :hide:.

Actually, unless the resource arrangement changes significantly, I feel sorry for the Australian AI if it ends up with anything not touching the coast.
 
I hope this gets done soon! I'd love to have Australia in the game.
 
I think to give food on trade routes to single civilizations you have to go to the DLL. Trade routes already support the ability to give other yields than commerce, best start from the getTradeRouteYield() or calculateTradeRouteYield() or similar method in CvCity.cpp and work your way backwards until you've found the right place.
 
There should be barbs for them, I suggest rabbits. You'd have to fight endless rabbits until you discover some techs.
 
And the rabbits get stronger every year, until they are ripping apart tanks by 1960.

As an Australian I don't like this idea of extra food from trade routes. Australia exports so much food - over 70% of our meat is exported (as an example).

Immigration to Australia post WWII improved industrial production (think of the Snowy Mountains Scheme http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowy_Mountains_Scheme); culture (non Anglo-Celt immigration brought new ideas, foods, fashions, ways of living, etc; and food production (more cheap labour, new foods, etc).

The map needs to be altered. It seems like this issue is about finding a solution to have Alice Springs (and other desert areas) habitable as towns. Plonk an oasis (a "billabong") there somewhere - that'll make em' happy in The Alice.

There's no argument about the amount of effort and skill you (and others) have put into these maps. There are a few changes that need to be made to the the Australia map in my opinion though. I'll see what I can do.
 
Currently I'm busy with some works (yes real life's one) so I couldn't make modmodmod recently.

I think merjin's trade route food idea is good in view of game balancing, but it is not good in reality-wise. (just what The Southerner and Leoreth said)
Also it makes me confused about programming problems, traderouteyield() things

Now I'm trying to study about how civ4 art files work, but it seems like it will take lots of times.
 
How about Power of Reefs: Works Boats can build Forest Preserves on coast tiles around Australia.

Or Work Boat with that ability could be their unique unit.
