Agendas are not mentioned for China, England, Egypt, Japan too.

In First Look videos. From other sources we know agendas of China (wonder envy), Egypt (likes civs with big military, loathes those with small), Japan (likes civs with big military if they have strong faith/culture, otherwise thinks of them as brutes) and IIRC England (likes colonising other continents??) but we know nothing about the Aztec one.

In general I think diplo agendas should be mentioned in FL videos after brief explanation of civ's ruler, they are supposedly such major mechanic in game...

I feel like an idiot, but what exactly are amenities in Civ VI? I've never heard about them as a feature in the game before.

This is another weird thing with Civ6 marketing - we keep hearing about "amenities" for quite some time, without any explanation what are they and how do they work :p (personally, as non native English speaker, I haven't even heard this word before)

It starts getting really weird now as we are getting to know of civs having special bonuses from amenities, without knowing what is basic purpose of amenities.

Usually, that's not how a Season Pass works. A Season Pass means you are paying up front for future Downloadable Content at a discounted price. So, all content included in the Deluxe Edition must be paid content.

The Aztecs are not paid content. They are free content that comes early to anyone who pre-orders the game. So they can't be part of the "First Four DLC" from the Deluxe Edition.

And we really don't know if that 4 DLCs are all civs. Maybe one of them is a Map Pack or some Scenarios.

Okay, not to like sound rude or anything but I did not even mention the Aztecs, I was quoting (if you'd read the post) a post saying that "they wouldn't stoop so low to make map set part of Deluxe edition" I then refered that the four DLCs that come with Deluxe. There was NO mention of Aztecs in my post.

Don't we know china doesn't like ppl with more wonder than them?

Corrected, but they haven't once mentioned the agendas for th civs in First Looks.

Well, we could guess the agenda based on the civilization properties. My guess is - Monty dislikes whose who have too few amenities.

OR he hates civs that have luxury resources that he doesn't.

how could they? replacing holy Jaguar warriors with...EAGLE warriors, I dont care Firaxis, it wont work, Im still naming my religion Jaguarism when I play the aztecs.

OR he hates civs that have luxury resources that he doesn't.
OR he hates anyone who owns cities he doesnt.

are the Aztecs going to be free? it says it will unlock for all civ VI players after 90 days, but pre-orders get him early.

Monty doesn't have an agenda.. He just makes random decisions just like in Civ 5

Oh he's Afraid.... out of nowhere... how convinient.. OH tehre's his Jaguar army

Glad it's not just me!

The video made it sound like they were a form of local happiness, so I think I'll go with that until more information is available.

If his unique ability is better combat from amenities I would guess he doesn't like those with luxuries he doesn't have.

It could work, if cities are weaker than they are in V (as far as we currently know, cities cannot ranged attack until ancient walls are built, though they still have their own HP/defense).

Still, I'm also a bit dubious about attacking other Civs with warriors. Even in my earliest of early wars I tend to get up to spearmen first :crazyeye: I'd prefer it if we at least got a free builder from clearing an encampment.

The video shows a attack power 45 Eagle Warrior attacking an attack power 25 Spearman... I think you're good :)

Could play out that way.

Monty: "I stayed in a hotel in your Civ's capitol city last night and there was no complimentary coffee, tea or even a small refrigerator"

Monty: "You know what this means?"

Me: "You want a refund?"

Monty: "No, WAR you moron!"

Could you please provide a screenshot of that?

I see, don;t need it.

We've seen Swordsmen having melee strength of 35. If Eagle Warriors replace warriors and have strength of 45, I wouldn't want to start near Aztecs.

We've seen Spearmen at 30 strength, though. So the numbers at this stage don't mean anything.

Amenity:noun, plural amenities.
1. an agreeable way or manner; courtesy; civility: the graceful amenities of society.
2. any feature that provides comfort, convenience, or pleasure: The house has a swimming pool, two fireplaces, and other amenities.
3. the quality of being pleasing or agreeable in situation, prospect, disposition, etc.; pleasantness: the amenity of the Caribbean climate.
4. amenities, lavatory; bathroom: used as a euphemism.

I always used it as (4), but I think it's used more like (1) here. I think it's pretty clear it's a local happiness modifier. For population in a city, you need housing (to house them) and amenities to keep them happy. That's why luxuries only help that city.

How many promotions did the Eagle Warrior have? It seems oddly OP for the warrior replacement to be stronger that Swordsmen and Spearmen.

these videos are just first looks. even by the name they are not supposed to be in-depth

also fighting early will be fine. your eagle warriors have bonuses from amenities to make them stronger and warring is how diplomacy works in the early game
