Band-Specific "Rock Band"s

You've got to be kidding me. Nickelback is awful, and the Beatles are the most popular band ever.

So then by your own admission, Nickelback is good right? I mean there popular?

No, I'm saying the most popular band ever deserves its own game more than an awful band.

Why is it if a band is old and popular its hip to think theyre good but if there new and popular they must be terrible?

I mean, Im not a mega fan or anything, but photograph is a pretty good song. Ya, a lot of there songs are annoying, like Rock star, I hate rock star, but only becuase its so weak in composition. Just sayin, they're not the greatest band in the world, but calling them awful is a stretch.

No, it is not. They are horrible. The singer always sounds sounds like he never drinks any water - his voice is scratchy, rough, and a pain to listen to.

IMO only comparatively old (i.e. older than a decade old) and many-albumed bands should be in band-specific Rock Bands. Nickleback has only 6 albums and are barely over a decade old. They are not really "legends" in the same way the Beatles or other such bands are. Plus they're extremely controversial.

1. Was making "The Beatles: Rock Band" a good idea?
2. Was making "Green Day: Rock Band" a good idea?
I believe both cases are good ideas. Rock Band is in my opinion a rather decent game, and I can't see how it should disvalue the music, other than possibly take away the glory. :p

3. Should Harmonix, or any other company, consider making band-specific "Rock Band"s of different bands? If so, which? (This can be because it would be good for Harmonix or simply because you would like to see it happen)
If they're allowed to, they could make a "Rock Band-Opera" for all I would care.

I like opera though. :crazyeye:

4. How do you think this will affect these bands' reputations, etc., if at all.
Unless people dislike the band, I think it will only affect their reputation positively.
That said, they could be accused of being money-focused-machines in a sense. :mischief:

So what you're saying is, there should be Rock Band: Muse.

Expansion of the band specific Rock Band titles wouldn't be a bad idea, but I sure as hell wouldn't want Huayna Capac deciding the bands!:old:;)

Rock Band 3 looks like it might be a good improvement. It looks like the game might be somewhat more translatable to real instruments, especially the keyboard. The guitars look different in this video, and I also heard they were going to have guitars with actual strings. I hope they can expand upon the drums as well. I always thought the drums were the most translatable to the real thing as far as keeping the rhythm.

edit: here is a video about the new guitar, it could be very cool.
