Oh, so you're supposed to take it serious? I thought it was a parody on low-intelligence closet racists.

I have no idea if the person who made it was serious, I should probably state that this was just one of the worst rage comics I had ever seen and so deserved to be on this thread.

It's difficult to tell if it was originally serious, Poe's Law being what it is, but I'd probably guess it was. I have no doubt that a lot of people have taken it seriously and agreed with its ludicrous sentiments.

I suppose the problem I have with people who claim that a certain kind of music (usually either metal or classic rock) is far superior and other people are stupid for not realizing it is that they don't realize how close minded they really are. It's especially annoying when people think that metal is some ingenious art form inspired by God when it's really just rock music turned up louder and played in a mode.

Most metal just uses the pentatonic scale as well (like most other rock music). Although some bands are known to use other scales, but afaik only a couple of guitarists who usually are on their own/have the band as support, venture on rare scales (eg Satriani). That said, i am not of the view that using rare scales in this music often leads to a better result. Electric guitar bands never seem to be that amazingly technically proficient anyway (i used to be reasonably good as a lead guitarist).

Some guitarists do have their own style, which i like considerably, such as David Gilmour (Pink Floyd).

Mortal Kombat's Raiden is also very cool:

All seven modes are part of the major/natural minor scale. And a lot of popular music is based on the mixolydian and dorian modes, not a pentatonic scale.

^Even if so, it is rare to have guitarists use many more notes than the core of the scale, and the pentatonic obviously has the smallest number of notes.

Power-chords are (sadly) the most common type of chord in rock music too..

To be fair IE isn't nearly as bad as it used to be and is in certain respects better than Chrome or Firefox.
