Beta Test Openings for Civ3 Conquests

THreadjacking again, (90 year old players)
most USMA graduates don't want to be chairman of the joint chiefs, they just want to be the oldest living graduate.

Beta test!!!!! I may be wrong but I think my system has got to be one the slowest mentioned so far.
PII 350:cry:
224 MB Ram:(
8 GB HD:cry:
8 MB Video Card:cry:
Win XP:)
See ya'll at the other side of NDA.

poor trevort, has more RAM than half the people here ;)

Santa got a great deal on memory.:D

If I'm chosen as a beta tester (maybe if hell freezes over), I for one wouldn't say a thing about what's coming. They hire PR people for this, and I doubt someone would want to be slapped with a lawsuit. So just for saying, if you are a beta tester, please don't release any information. That goes for disinformation also, that wouldn't be any better. So people, be nice to those of us who are less fortunate. It's not nice to tease.

It better not. I dunno what mine is exactly.
Well, it wasn't marked as a required field, so I don't think they'll throw your application in the bin, over it.

But they'll most likely want to help you figure it out if you get picked.

This info is usually displayed when your computer boots, but there's a lot of info being passed on during a short time, so it's hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for.

You could also try the freeware program Belarc Advisor which creates a detailed description of your system pretty fast. The motherboard info is then listed in the report under the 'Main Circuit Board' heading.

Wrong!

I have:
Celeron 333MHz
64 MB Ram
8 GB HD
Intel i740 8 MB Video Card
Win 98 (1st ed)

Juts right above the minimum.

Of course to make the game playable
I always:
-Play maps of stadard size or smaller
-use no more then 8 civs
-play without music

That's gives ok speed in early age, and a little bit slow in modern age (especily while loading saves games).

But, it's still playable.

Thx Isac. I wasn't sure on Motherboard either. Ran Belarc and didn't understand it all, but at least I have something if they get back to me.

Really hoping they do. Wanna be a beta tester!

Paint Shop Pro recently released a public beta for version 8. I think the more beta testing before release the better. Many of us have complained that civ3 and PTW was released too early. It's fantastic that they want to change their rep and try to find the bugs before asking people for money.

Well I'm playing the 'old fart' card and hoping that they will look at the age profiles appearing here and decide that need a few of us ahem temporally challenged testers.

Does anyone really know how beta testers are picked? I applied within 3 minutes of the posting on the main CFC page (Right place at the right time:) ). Hope it is first come, first serve! I never beta tested any thing b4. Can anybody tell us what is the procedure?

You play games, get to talk about them, and then get your name in the credits just for having fun before everyone else :D

I signed up yesterday (Monday). I would love to give some helpful feedback concerning my favorite game franchise. The free copy would just be icing on the cake. :goodjob:

If they want a wide test, they should give me a call. How many BP6 motherboards do you see these days? Hopefully they'll want to get some testing done with MP systems :D

Let's just hope to get news fast on who got picked, can't stand waiting too much....and ah...minorities rule, any other italians here? :P

GL everyone!

Remember, there won't be any more word on this until after May 27th, when the application window is closed. In the meantime, there's always summer vacation. :D
