CTD earlish in the game (researching Feudalism I believe). CTD has happened several times I've loaded from save. Due to custom civ/config I don't know if you can load a save game?

I think the errror is this regarding this error in xml.log
"info type NONE not found, Current XML file is:"

This appears for a LOT of the game files (Cross-posted with 2.8 bugs since I'm not sure if it's a 2.8 bug or mod-mod bug.

The "NONE not found" error does not appear to be a "real" error. It has been there for many files for a number of releases. My first attempt at getting Afforess' 1.4beta8 failed so I can't help yet. Interestingly I think of Feudalism as being about mid-game as I usually have a cultural win at about Scientific Method :)
 
Now here's something interesting: When i try to install the beta i choose my RoM folder, i press next and...i get two things show up (in the place where should pick features). Caption Goes Here and lower, Message goes here. There is only one button, which stands for Cancel. WTH is wrong?

That's an installer bug of some kind. Can you give me specifics, where your RoM folder is, what version?

Remember - the new beta will only install over RoM 2.8 not RoM 2.8beta according to the first post. If you are trying to load it over 2.8 then you will have to wait until Monday (or Tuesday if your are on this side of the world) for Afforess to get back and solve the issue.

Beta8 is meant for Rom 2.8Full, to clarify. If you even try to load it over a beta or 2.71, it will give an error screen, on the installer.

Please post the save, so I can isolate the cause of the crash. NONE not found isn't a type of error, it has to do with the inner workings of WoC.

Both work fine, as both are exactly the same game, except for the graphics. Let me put it this way, if my installer works fine, it was meant for that version. If it gives you a either a"Outdated RoM version" warning screen, they you messed it up. You don't need to think about it. Just download, and install.

How/Why did it fail, it's a regular download link? Also, I think Cultural Victories need to be harder, they are too easy right now.

I am getting a repeatable CTD. Using just RoM 2.8Full with 1.4Beta8. I have changed two things. I put chop forest back to Bronze Working rather than Iron Working and I upped the number of wonders in each city. I have not yet even installed my default mods one of which was the high graphics cursor which you now have.

I have plot list enhancement off as I don't tend to use it in the early game. In an earlier non repeatable CTD I got a python error about PLE which may point to a minor efficiency gain in the C code since it should not have been trying to display it.

I won't be able to without the custom civ.

Yea, I also messed with the Min_City_Range and the Max wonders per city...which I bet would also break the save.

I've been autoplaying with 2.8full + 1.4beta8 without any other changes to see if I can reproduce the error without my edits/custom civ.

And I think I was successful...CTD right after researching Feudalism (interesting). Logs + save files attached under spoiler



EDIT: also loaded all the custom modules -- static, realistic diplo, & custom building (no art)
2nd EDIT: Just realized that I was putting the realistic diplo mod from unloaded mods to loaded mods, even though your modmod loads it. Unloading it breaks the save, but I'm going to try again!
 
I found some problems ...

1. Winter Lodge is missing is background text. It just says some code text.

2. Major League Stadium doesn't require a Minor Leage Stadium when it should. Otherwise there is no point in building a minor league stadium.

3. Why do existing techs like Military Science or Drama require sports techs?

4. Major and Minor League Stadiums should have an obsolete tech.

5. Do you think water sports should have been separated into 2 techs? One with swimming, diving, sailing, canoeing, rowing, water polo, etc. And one with all the motorized water sports like jet skiing, motor boating, water skiing, etc?

Yes and No. I would like to, but it isn't feasible. The Modern Era section of tech tree is too cramped. I couldn't fit another tech in, even if I wanted too, without redoing the whole tech tree.

I just added all the unloaded modules to the modules folder, but I still can't load the save. Can you give me a better breakdown of what you changed? Are there any features of my modmod's that you did or didn't install?
 
So I unzipped Zap's Full to the mods folder.
Installed your 1.4beta8 with all options
Went into the unloaded modules and moved the following to the modules folder:
- Custom Buildings > NoBuildingGraphics
- Static
- Realistic Diplomacy

I've realized now that I'm loading Realistic Diplomacy twice doing this.

However, that's not causing the error (I think). I just started a new game and clicked through my technology tree and got another CTD just from clicking through past Feudalism. I'm wondering if there's something with Feudalism that's causing a bug to occur when either a) telling it to research, or b) once it's finished researching?

Any ideas? Trying to replicate again without the Realistic Diplo mod being loaded twice...
 
I haven't tried to load your game yet, DudeSDCA, but I will soon.

In other news, I found a repeatable "Waiting For..." Loop in a AIAutoPlay game, that I am as-of now unable to fix...

1. Didn't we agree when the Zero G Arena was invented which is space colonies. Or alternatively with the Virtual reality. Who needs a stadium when you can go to the holographic theater to see them play it.

Leave what you have now with the whole "Water Sports" tech and "Water Raceway" building, but add an ancient building involving all the water related sports before. Here is an idea...

I believe you didn't include the workers modmod in beta8, it's not in the modules or unloaded modules and there certainly wasn't an option in the installer for it yet it's mentioned in the list on first post.
 
I tried to use YOUR beta on the FULL 2.8 and it says that i am using an outdated copy, cant be, cause that is the ONLY copy of RoM i have??? Can you just place a copy of YOUR beta stuff withOUT an installer, i hate those things anyways.
