Betting and Speculation - The "Entirely Separate Hypercube" Civ!

So that's Venice, eh? And I thought India was bad, buy at least they get to control their own cities!

I really hope that whoever posted that lied, because that would be a horrible civ to play as. It really does sound like it would just be a slightly better OCC. And 'Great Galleass'? Really?

It said the UUs, UAs, as well as what the Internet and national visitors center did. It had a lot of info.

We're not talking about the info on the Polish website? Where did this new information com from?

Hey everyone. I be the poster of the thread. I've been following civfanatics since civ4 I believe (mostly stalking but I had some newbie question threads:P).

Anyway, I may have posted in the wrong section, I think I misinterpeted this thread (compare the to the solid info thread), so I apologize from everyone!

I'd say the info is correct but since I'm the poster.. :) If mods want me to post screens etc, I'm willing to do so. (Or maybe the link to the article when its published? I didnt want to post where I'm writing the preview for as I thought it'd be advertising)

Again, I'm sorry for confusion and any problems!

Welp, looks like I'll only play as Venice for the achievement, then. :/

Venice can only annex and capture city-states? That's no hypercube, that's dull. Who saw this thread?

I can see only puppeting and founding puppets if you can buy stuff, but no founding? Also, never trust a guy who named himself after the angel of death.

No way they would add a new Civilization like that and make it a staggering failure. I want to know who saw this thread.

Pics or it didn't happen.

I saw it. Been waiting for a response from mods in here before I discuss it though. Surprised they haven't made an appearance yet given how quickly the thread was taken down.

Which is why you open things in a new tab ;)

I'm guessing/hopeful that if multiple people saw it I wont get THE BANHAMMER~ for discussing what was in the post, and what will doubtless be all over similar sites. Venice cannot annex or found cities, only puppet... but can purchase things in puppet cities. They also have a unique great merchant who can puppet city-states.

This will actually suit me and my playstyle surprisingly well. I tend to load up one city (not usually the capital, in fairness) with the Heroic Epic and all the XP buildings for my small but elite fighting force. If I can nudge along my puppets in the direction I want by buying buildings, this could be pretty useful.

It'll be pretty restrictive for wonders though. Unless that capital is PERFECTLY situated, you're gonna miss a ton, plus it'll need to be a production beast to be picking up units AND wonders.

Hence hypercube!

It also had double trade routes, if I recall. So that will give you one MONSTER capital.

Kinda funny that the two civs on the Italian landmass both have capital benefits!

The other UU was a Great Galleass which sounded dull. I didn't really like the Quinquereme either for its "basic, but slightly gooder" thing.

Still though, outside the ability, a particularly nondescript UU and a UGP who can be gifted via Patronage to other civs? Interesting...

It said the UUs, UAs, as well as what the Internet and national visitors center did. It had a lot of info.

A phantom thread that got deleted immediately, supposedly said all this stuff

What happened? Could someone enlighten me?

Venice cannot annex or found cities, only puppet them. They can buy through gold in cities they have as puppets. They have a special Great Merchant that can puppet city-states (Austria but a lot less awesome). They get double the normal amount of trade routes. And their unique unit is the Great Galleass...

Please be a hoax.

Someone created a thread which detailed the last two remaining civs, their leaders, their UU and their UA as well as other stuff. The thread survived for all of two minutes before it vanished.

To everyone here and people that private messaged me: I've apparently made a mistake due to customs here and I don't want to make the same mistake again (Years of using forums and still making stupid mistakes, I feel awfully ashamed). If a mod tells me it's alright, ill post the info here, this time with more screenshots:) Otherwise it might turn into a bigger mess of speculation.
