[Beyond the Sword] History In The Making

I hate to do this, but I think I have to report a bug find.

Map: either huge or planetary (don't remember) (my system can handle planetary) - typical random generation
OS: Windows 7 x64
Civ: I think Egyptian

Problem: When I try to load a saved gamed, the load goes all the way to the end (and I even hear a sound). Then, there is a CTD. I am able to load a much earlier saved version.

I am no expert, but following the suggestions, I turned on logging. When I look in the log file, the only things which seems odd is this:
building:Art/Structures/Buildings/EgyptianTemple/Temple.nif does not contain a node called SHADOW. Its shadow, if present, will be corrupt!
building:Art/Structures/Buildings/Obelisk/Obelisk.nif does not contain a node called SHADOW. Its shadow, if present, will be corrupt!

Could this be the cause of the problem?

Anyway, I have attached a zip with the saved game and the log files. Any help would be greatly appreciated - this game was starting to get interesting.

p.s. If it is of any help: I checked the Event log and found the following error.

I haven't had a chance to look at your game yet. I just installed Windows 7 x64 myself, so I'm curious to see what happens with it.

What does the promotion Blessed do? The Civlopedia entry for it is blank.

Sounds like the game isn't writing the INI files. Shouldn't be a game breaker. You can always turn those messages off.

Under Vista or Win 7 you need rights to write/overwrite file in most cases if you are not running it as admin.
In your case it means that you do not have rights to write those files. You can go to the Mods directory ,click on MITM dir and assign rights to particular user/users. Had the same very issue.
By doing that you can keep report window and get those pesky messages off your sight.

If Blessed doesn't do anything why is it a 'benefit' promotion for one of the civ traits..think it is spiritual? Just for looks or something, because the next promotion in that line is supposed to be so good that you have to waste a promo to get the second one?
 
As Jeelen said, OOS = out of sync. It appears when a player have something different than the others.

Here it appears only with the expansive civ. When you select an expansive civ and settle you get the OOS. When the player reconnect the city is back to population 1...
Was working fine in the previous versions.

How can I remove the "national wonder" Bollywood from the game?
Did you know, that it's only the 3rd largest film industry in India itself? Please tell me, how to remove it! thanks.
 
I found a bug as Indian. The Mausoleum doesn't replace Temple as suggested. Actually it appears to be an addition.
 
hi,

i'm very disappointed cause I play with this mod (and Rise of mankind) ant both crashing when i discover too much civilizations or when i discover (even with trading) "too much" map. The game crashes eve I discover a new civ and the game open teh "window" with the leader. All this happens about 1250/1300 ad (I don't know if the cause of this problem is the date or the map). The error is, less on more, a warning to reduce the map setting. I play with 13/14 civ, sometimes barbarian mod, huge o gigantic map. My pc is a i7 cpu 920, 6GB ram, ati radeon hd 4870 x2, XP.
Someone could help me about this very noising problem? Every 3-4 turns the game crashes....

Love the MOD, play it with my cuz (I know, Multiplayer is not tested nor recommended) :)
We have played a full game and it worked wonderfully. However, we have encountered some problems while playing that I thought I might report. I think its a really great MOD and I would really love to have it fully MP-compatible. I think a lot of other civ fanatics out there would agree, why I reckon the fixes are worth while implementing if you feel you have the energy. Here goes:
Expansive trait as discussed in previous posts the game gets out of sync when expansive leaders drop new towns. Maybe it's as easy as to "inform" the other clients that the population-value is 2 rather than 1. I think the expansive trait is really interesting and would love to be able to use it in MP.
General motors never enabled building of automobile factories. Maybe also MP-related
Neuschweinsteig castle only gives the engineer perk to the player building the wonder. Would be great if the whole team got the benefits like most other wonders. This is maybe the case with other new wonders, haven't tried them all.
Transport helicopter, I think should be able to pick up artillery. That would really speed up military advances in land.
Roman road constructor, I could really use a few more of those. Maybe a national cap of 3-5. Maybe team-mates should get them as well.
Also we get a error message about some "event handler, great person..."-thingy. It doesn't seem to affect the game otherwise

Please, please drop a quick fix patch. If you only fix one thing on my list then make expansive-trait multiplayer-friendly. Or at least give instructions how to fix it. Not that i have a compiler or anything.. :)

just a quick question, has anyone out there actually finished a game using carter giant earth map? I always seem to a point, when the save game is about 2.85 mb it does not crash, and turn times are still very reasonable. But if i stop playing and try and reload, i keep getting a crash? Trying to load an earlier save works but the same problem comes back?
 
I have the same problem. I played huge earth map with 18 civs. I have reached classical era and i saved the game. When i wanted to load it, its crash me every time. Also i tried to load earlier autosaves, and its also corrupted. I play on Vista 32.

Hmm, cannot find where the 'Post New Thread' tab is. Playing Big and Small, noble, 800AD, and I cannot chop forest, build mine, or roads on an island withing my cultural border that I just settled on. Annoying. Ok on mainland just next door. Am I missing something here? The build road icon is blanked out for some odd reason, and no mine icon at all. I notice on the blanked out road icon it says 'requires stone' which I did not have to build roads on the mainland. This is stupid and is holding back my progress.
 
i can't get the mod to work it stops when i load it and i found that it was loading 3 of HiTM when i only loaded one. HELP
 
So, is it too soon to talk about HITM for Civilization 5 yet? :lol:
