the error log file you posts talks about great person icon. What is the mod that includes BUG v3.6? If that mod includes a new type of great person then that mod owner will need to add a suitable icon for that great person.

I know exactly what I forgot to do. It's a quick fix in the GPUtil.py file. Basically, the Military Academy generates GP points towards a Great General in HiTM. In the vanilla BtS, it generates points towards a Great Spy.

Since Great Generals are handled differently in the game (you get them by winning battles, as opposed to buildings generating GP points), if you select a building to accumilate GP points towards a GG... once the GG is born, the game will not know how to handle it, and the interface might get fooked up.

To solve it in older versions of HiTM, I basically had to add the GG to the list of GP that can be born within a city.

It's like telling the game, "Hey, this building is going to generate points towards a GG. So once you get enough points, show the GG being born properly".

If you don't add the GG to the list, the game will not know what to do. Does that make sense?

I made the necessary corrections... then I started a quick game and placed a Military Academy in the city, and flipped on AIAutoPlay for 100 turns. 100 turns later... still had my interface (and a few extra GG's in the city).


HOPEFULLY... that fixes everybody's interface issues. Or at the very least, some of you.

Here is the file. This will also be included in the next patch.

Put this file into your HISTORY IN THE MAKING/Assets/Python/BUG directory. When asked to overwrite, select "yes".

See if that helps.

I get a crash when trying to start up a game. It's a shame because I was sooo pumped to play this. Looks nice. Good work. I've read this thread and it seems that vista causes alot of problems with the mod and I DO have vista. So have any vista users gotten this to work. Any tips on how to get this up and running?

I have a problem in the last version. No matter what options I select, after a certain numbers of turns - quite a lot - it changes my game to a weaker civillisation. As enterteining as this can be sometimes, it is mostly annoying. And, again, nothing is checked that could permit this. Or nothing I am aware of.

Got to read more of the forum. Why would asimillation mode do that? maybe the text explaining it can be edited.

This is a bug with the Assimiliation mod. I tried contacting Kael about this, but he hasn't got back with me yet. Still waiting...

If I don't hear back from him by the next patch release, I may just remove Assimiliation mod for now until some of these bugs can be ironed out.
 
Got it saved in, but I guess my saved game is beyond hope haha too bad too had a good ally who was on par with me and we were having fun mopping up Hitler, Stalin, Hussein!! But thanks though Grave, this is the Mostest Uberest mod out there and if I knew anything about modding Id offer to help you out with additions...I understand XML a bit...but thats about all. Course that came from Galactiic Civ, but was still fun to learn. Looking forward to the next patch!
 
ACK started 2 new games as TExas and the same bug has happend both times...has happened after I found Christanity with my prophets...will try some other playing around to see if I can narrow it down more! Also this has happend right off the bat...so im wondering if going into the world builder and giving yourself prophets is doing something...will try it the old fashioned way!

No matter what I do I cant reproduce the bug...Ive tried every way I can think of, but it still seems to be a random thing, though when I have had the bug Ive had Great people in the game...that prolly doesnt help at all.

wanted to give HitM a try but ran into 2 gamebreaking bugs and several other things

1. i was playing as the Dutch and then sudenly *poof* i was playing as the isralei and Jerusalem. no warning, no revolution, I was in 3000bc. WTH ? if this is a mod feature, it is just the worst thing i have ever experienced in a mod. how to turn it off ?

2. i tried to give a look to the BUG mode and when i press ctrl+alt+O i only get an empty popup that i can not close. the game i still behind this popup, a bit darkened, but i can not access it anymore and the only thing i can do is ctrl+alt+sup and terminate the process. again WTH ? this thing crash my game.

3. i can not create maps larger than Large.

4. My UI disapears once in a while. how can i fix that ?

i didnt find anything in the first 4 posts, please forgive me for i dont have time to read 130 pages. plz help i want to play this mod, it looks great.

i have win XP and all patches for everything, uptodate drivers etc etc

About the maps: what map script are you using? The other errors are mentioned by other people too, Grave is working on it.

I experience the same problem on WinXP :cry: And CTDs under WinVista still present. :mad: Maybe I need to install third HDD with Win98? :sad: Now I have to play Wolfshanze mod and it works perfectly, but HitM, of course, is better as the mod itself. Still waiting for a patch :scan:
 
Update on my bug...I was playing and boom the bug hits...and decided I was going to start turning off stuff in the BUG mod...I unchecked the Great person progress bar(first option for me) and boom...gui comes back and game starts working again...what would the progress bar have to do with anything I wonder?

On another note...my save game now works having that unchecked!!!

which manual ? where is the link ? i found a 13 pages word doc in the mod folder, is that the manual ? could not find any information about my problem in it

unfolded all the spoilers, i can see no information about my problem. I see lists of buildings and ressources which i am very happy with since i can not play the civ i choose for more than 10 turns.

About the maps: what map script are you using?
i'm trying to create a Continents maps.
 
Well, it does mention the "Assimiliation Mod by Kael". That introduces some bugs but also new game options. When you start a custom game, scroll all the way down and deselect high - low challange.
 
How do yout the game to stop switching civs every 20 turns or so? It is reall annoying.

I believe thats wht they are saying the ASsimilation mod does..lets you change, but for some reason it does it by itself. There is suppose to be an option for it in the custom game area to turnoff.
