BirdNES 3: Discussions & Questions

Friday March 20th or sooner.

Just saying that England is here, still miffed about the whole losing Ireland thing. Well, as long as you listen to me, we'll be fine. Don't get any pretensions that you're an independent nation, because really all you are is the Lord Deputy of Ireland. You still answer to me. :)

We will see.

Question: Does writing out laws and treaties and whatever count as stories, or do they have to be actual story stories?

Um yeah and well see Ireland getting its rear handed to it if it disobeys England too.

They could be counted as such, but if they are long and dry, I might edit the text down.

India map with names is now posted on page 1 of the game thread, post #6.

das knows what I'm talking about. ;)

It's not really very similar at all so far; besides, the Delhi Sultanate as often persecuted the Hindus as worked with and through them, and certainly didn't usually destroy any temples that were left in its territory (the ones in Deccan were fair game and much richer anyway). Same about Hindu worship as a general rule.

(That and the particular post makes me cringe since the style is all wrong, seeing as it really should've been an internal edict about guaranteed religious tolerance, not faux-diplomacy asking for cooperation between Hindus and Muslims, unless it was directed at some specific Hindu subjects, which a) ought to be clarified and b) doesn't make it any sense either. As it is, it could be interpreted as the Sultan sending messengers to every single Hindu rural community and city quarter he could find within the Sultanate and asked them for help in exchange for end of all persecution. But be that as it may. ;) )

Thank you das.

You're welcome.

As to Ryazan, it has been very much in Moscow's sphere of influence for a while now; the pro-Russian faction is predominant at the prince's court, and the current Grand Prince of Ryazan, funnily enough named Ivan Vasilyevich, has in 1483 signed a treaty in which he recognised the predominance of the prince of Moscow and handed over control over foreign policy, also becoming a military ally. It still was technically outside of Ivan III's direct domain, but historically ended up being partly willed to the Grand Prince of Moscow and partly seized by force, like many other principalities before it. Just so you know. ;)

The latest version of the map with some new coloration will be posted tonight.

Updated map posted on page 1 of game thread.

I don't see it mentioned anywhere, but do we have the standard 5 year turn?

Also: what about "standing" policies, i.e. important policies technically implemented before 1490 and still in action? Does that count as neglecting an important area of state development unless changed/reconfirmed?

I think I'm slightly colour-blind because the poo-colour of Genoa has this habit of blending with the grey around it.
Just a quick question, does Florence just include the rest of the small city-states in the grey region (Siena, Lucca, Modena, Ferrara, bits of Savoy, etc.)?

What is europes view of Egypt? I'm not gonig to get crusaded again am i?

Is it just me that fc's signature jumped into his post?

1. Following my recent non-aggression pact with Bengal, what does Bengal mean by non-interference with her neighbors? Does it mean her immediate bordering neighbors or all of India?

2. I think you should make it clear that the main thread is IC only, and clear it up. Maybe inject it into the title or place it in the first port.
