Really though, ships getting attacked completely against orders is only one of too many absurdities in this NES that can be blamed for your player base vanishing.
That's the only big thing I've seen, all the other issues I remember have been pretty small. Is this just exaggeration? Which events were you referring to?
An to rage quit over a few ships, in a seeminly plausible, but bad luck situation is a bit weak.

The beautiful part of a NES like this is that it doesn't have to match history exactly. There would be no reason to play this if there was no chance for England or any other country to leave the boundries that history have set for us. I for one am glad that players like Immac have been able to play a country to a level of dominance that did not exsist at this time.There's no way any 16th century England should be richer than Spain.
