Will you also demand the withdrawal of the good Christians of Scotland and Portugal so that you might forgive them and in the same breath demean and insult them also?

No, it is only through cooperation and agreement that the pagans of the new world will be brought to Christ. If we squabble or if I, or the lords of Portugal, Scotland and other lands bow to your mercentile short-sightedness and selfishness, we will squander our opportunity to spread the word of God now and forever. And the Devil will have won.

There you are wrong my friend. It was signed by a treaty under the eyes of the church between Portugal and Spain that all lands of the new world be divided between us exclusively. My father saw to this with his own hand, under the grace of God. If you wish to go against our treaty you can answer to Portugal, Spain and our Lord above.

Perhaps you should be speaking to France, they are the aggressors, Milan was simply defending Genoa's right to be free from French rule.

Milan has and is still willing to negotiate peace as long as Genoa and Milan are both free from French influence.

OOC: The Treaty of Tordesillas was signed in 7 June 1494 in Tordesillas, Spain and ratified by the Pope at that time and again in 1506 via the bull Ea quae.

This NES began in 1490 and no such treaty was signed within the NES. If you want to sign such a treaty, you can do so now if you think the signatories will agree. But no such document exists within this reality. I invite you to ask some sort of moderator regarding this issue, but I assure you that no such treaty exists in this reality.

No. I'm afraid I can't let you do that Henry. The new world is split between the brother nations of Portugal and Spain, there is no room for Englishmen on my claims. I, just as my father before me, have all the rights to claim lands rightfully discovered by my order and charter. I do not repeat myself, so adhere to this warning while you can. If you do not leave my lands, and turnover all buildings located on it within the year, I will bring forth the might of Spain on your kingdom. God wills it!

My brothers, we have heard of your discussion regarding England's and Scotland's recent presence in the continent where New Spain was established, and we wish to say something.

We know that King Henry has decided to establish a colony north of New Spain, and that Scotland has established a colony in one of the islands that were recently discovered by my navies. However, none of them have any place in this continent, for the Pope gave Spain and Portugal (and only Spain and Portugal) the blessing to bring civilization and Christianity to the new continent, through a treaty that established a line, going across the Cape Verde Archipelago: from Cape Verde to the North, the new continent belonged to Spain; from Cape Verde to the South, to Portugal.

Maybe you missed this treaty due to your youth, but let me tell you that it is very much real, and that indeed the Holy Father, as His representative on Earth, indeed gave both Portugal and Spain lordship over the new lands that were discovered by Bartolomeu Dias and Cristobal Colón so many years ago.

So please, let this matter go, and acquiesce to the wishes of God that only Spain and Portugal civilize the new continents.

OOC: Yes, there wasn't a Treaty of Tordesillas, which delimited the limits of Spain's and Portugal's spheres of influence in the rest of the world from a line placed 370 miles west of Cape Verde. But in here, Spain and Portugal brokered other treaty, that only talked about the New World, so we win here.
