Botwawki 2.6

To: Kingdom of Heaven
From: Federation

We are ready for a peace treaty. Your destructive plan brought down the only crossing of the St. Johns River in the region, so we are not even neighbors properly. With this natural barrier between us, I believe there is no need to extend the conflict. It would be a logistical nightmare for you. Besides, I know that your people will soon be without water, and your literally thirsty warriors would still have to cross the river by swimming, or divert kilometers to the south.

Let's just end this conflict. You lost a city, me too. Both of us also wasted enough men, but you must admit that now I have the advantage, and even then I extend my hand offering peace. What do you say?

So, if someone were to say, plop an armed roadblock of some sort down on a major trade route, would that actually have any effect, mechanically? I'm, uh, asking for a friend.

Well, at the moment, while the trade route map is theoretically accurate, no that would not have an effect, as there's plenty of open territory through which to travel around any obstruction. Controlling a vital bridge like West Bridge was or something, now that would be more meaningful mechanically speaking.

For everyone else, here's a basic political map marking territories that could theoretically be claimed by the factions in question. Capitals and major towns (1000+ Population) are marked on the map. Of course, national control does not really extend beyond walls of the settlements at this juncture, so this is simply a hypothetical exercise for the time being. Enjoy

Faction Name: The Core of Matter

Leader Name: Scientist Mark Jobs

Leader Trait: Enigmatic

Starting Location: Albany, GA

Leader Background: Mark Jobs is one of the most well - educated and prominent members of the Core society, and he has taken quite an interest in theoretical and applied physics. However, he is thought of as quite mysterious person, with not many knowing him personally.

Origins: Survivors

Traits: Tech - Savvy

Capital Type: Pre-War Community

Background: Albert Ford was a theoretical physicist that survived the Great war not through his scientific knowledge or any kind of brilliance, but because he was rather lucky. He left for Albany once the nuclear exchange happened, in order to seek out his family, who, as they were not as lucky as him, had fallen prey to raiders. Seeing the destruction the raiders brought to his home, Albany, Albert Ford decided to organise the local society according to his liking. The people were amazed by how he told them that he had survived through unique technology from the north and they began following him, hoping that they could develop such marvels for themselves. The Core of the Matter is ruled by a Commission of the 11 most educated men in Albany, who all take decisions in unison for matters of the community through votes and logical arguments. As such, the survivors had taken quite a liking to technology and science, almost making it a dogma of their own.
Today, after almost 200 years, Mark Jobs is the most prominent member of the Science Commision.

@Polyblank: Just a couple questions/comments based on what you posted.

1. Albany, GA, correct?

2. The Great War was almost 200 years ago at this point, the NES started approximately 170 years after that conflict. You may want to revise origins a little bit on that.

1. Yes

2. Oh, I am silly :p. I changed it now ( Immortal Albert Einstein Ford for the win!)

As before, the update is scheduled to begin on Wednesday.

The NPCs are waiting for Stockholme's and Quisani's answers too, as they are not prepared to deal with such negotiations unless the other factions are on board.

To: The Edgewood Militia, Vault 37, Universal Refuge
CC: The New Gulf Commonwealth
From: Sunshine Kingdom

The Ruins of Orlando are profitable, that is undeniable. However, it is becoming obvious that the old agreements are no longer viable, as the easy scrap has started to disappear. The NGC and the Sunshine Kingdom have existed peacefully in agreement over the scrapping boundaries, an agreement that we feel should and could be expanded to cover all the factions with interest in the area.

From Vault 37
To the Sunshine Kingdom
CC New Gulf Commonwealth

We'll listen to proposals in private. Send us and the NGC a communique and we'll enter negotiations about the city of Orlando.

-Population: 70
-Structures: Fortifications, Farming Equipment, Water Purifier
-Arsenal: 30 1-H Guns, 20 2-H Guns

Headman’s Challenge solution:
Spoiler :
This is a serious problem. We will launch another expedition; as there is only a limited distance that this group could possibly be traveling, and little way for so many not to leave signs even months afterwards. At this moment, though, we cannot construct either structure; instead, we can expand the Union and its potential by spending our scrap on construction. But will expand our military potential, and soon.

Orders:
Spoiler :
Scavenging/Military
A 70(10 lasers, 40 2-H guns, 20 1-H guns) man expedition will follow any clues that may lead them to find the culprits of the attacks as far as, I dunno, Venus to Lake Wales, and everything between there and the Union; if they can’t find anything then they are either long gone or all ninjas or something. As per usual on my topic like this, caution, try to bait out smaller, more manageable numbers, the works.

Construction:
Send a team down to surveyed site at the 95 and, er, 76? 706? (708 is apparently in Riviera Beach; seems a bit beyond mine and Refuge’s target area). Work with people from Refuge to construct New Casablanca on the overpass, using nearby scavenge as needed; the Headwoman will help to pick out good pieces to use, and to help investigate the area for any hidden caches.

If the people from refuge cannot, for some reason, help then we will need to put this off.

Also, encourage new immigrants to settle in St. Lucy, to bolster the population.

To: Refuge
We are able to construct our new site, and welcome you into the Union in the next few months; between our scrap reserves and yours we should be able to pull this off. If you can provide security for the site, then we would be much obliged, as well have other business we must focus our military on.

Getting ready to start work on the update. As always, orders are accepted up to the literal last minutes.
