Breaking news: Emergency landing thread

the difficulty was that they thought only 1 tire got a flat, not both

Whats really going on?

I assume Ram is talking about wars, starvation, disease, and horrid things that people like to put out of their minds.

While y'all are watching a plane land and thinking that it is the most important thing in the world, thousands of people have died because they didn't have clean water to drink.

Maybe not film it ? I mean, it could potentially go very wrong. And be very ugly.
I would understand filming it and not broadcasting it live. That way the film can be used by experts if anything goes wrong, and you do not risk broadcasting people dying on live TV. And if everything goes fine, then you got one heck of a piece to show.

But I find live broadcasting of events where people could die by the dozens a sick and voyeur thing.
The networks run that footage on a tape delay so that no graphic images are presented to the average viewer. I'm at least thankful they didn't do it on 9/11 -- people needed to see that.

They said the tires blew on takeoff, which happens every so often. If the plane runs over something on the runway, it can easily puncture a tire. That's what caused the Concorde crash a few years ago.
Interesting. I didn't realize this sorta thing was a relatively common occurence.
