Seemed to be the best option, happy to hear your explanation on why that wasn't the case My food was quite bad in that game and my one city was probably going to remain pretty small. I hoped Order would help me out in the science department with the factory boost. I knew I wasn't going to blast through the late game techs with bulbs due to only one city, so freedom is less appealing. That was my thinking anyways
OCC science game rather than raw science, relies more on RAs and trying to be tall. Not uncommon to be size 45+ by the time you finish (maritime allies any time). Since you will be running specialists, it's best that they cost less and produce more, and also cause less unhappiness. Which is why it's more desirable to boost the RAs by going left hand side of Rationalism first and even finish it earlier and pick up a crap tech because on OCC you need all you can get
Furthermore, Freedom allows you to quick buy SS parts, something an Order game takes literally forever with just one city building each part, that's at least 50-55 turns, where on Freedom it should be reduced dramatically. That's also where Commerce and Big Ben come into play, they reduce the cost from 3500ish to 1900ish. You had DoFs going late in the game, so money wouldn't be an issue
Lastly, Freedom unlocks SoL, which is the go-to wonder if your cities are specialist heavy
Sorry if this is a nooby question but are you using any mods or anything to modify your UI? I'm fairly new and when watching your Shoshone LP I saw a lot of features I do not get in my game. I'm particularly interested in the extra info you had when looking at cities to settle and the city management screen.
I may be missing something obvious but I'd like to get my games looking more similar to yours. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching! I play all my games with Enhanced User Interface. You can find it by searching on Civfanatics. I would link it myself but I'm restricted to mobile for a but which isn't as easy to get the link.
I cleaned up the first post on this thread and added the four quick guides I made covering what I feel are the four most important concepts on deity. Perhaps this warrants its own thread in strategy & tips, but that didn't end well for the last guy so I'll just turn this into an LP and Guide thread
