[BtS] Diversica

I doubt it's just you. I have a 10mb download connection and its going to take me an hour to download the file. Still fluctuating.
 
I just started a game as Safavids and warriors have the 'Start Inquisition' ability button and can do naval sentry duty.

This has come up recently before (and when I took a look to confirm it turned out to be true for many units). I believe this somehow is related to the RevDCM mod and the fact that I modularized it, will have to look into it (and maybe demodularize again).

Patch 1.80a released, fixes the two units reported by avain.

The button issue will need some investigating, I suspect it is an issue between BUG and modular xml.

This should fix it.

Go to Diversica\Assets\Modules\RevDCM dir and delete all its content. Extract the zip there afterwards.
 
Did the issue with extra promotions mentioned on the previous page get fixed? The promotions tree is broken so certain new promotions are immediately available without prerequisite.

Should be fixed, I reverted the promotions back to non-modular, which caused the problem in the first place. Did not really check it though.
 
Sadly, not fixed in any of the games I have started. Kill a barbarian or two and you can get all the Extra Promotions. Not a problem for a discerning human, who can avoid the temptation to cheat, but the AI has a penchant for choosing Artic2 with his scouts. God knows what is happening on the other side of the world, but you can envisage early waves of AI Combat 4 Axemen razing cities that they shouldn't, by rights, even dent.

The prerequisites, like Combat 3 or Drill3, aren't kicking in. A quick look through the XML shows that the new promotions are all written in a different way to, say Combat 1. Any easy way to fix?

Dang, I will have to look into this some more, I did think it was fixed.

Other than deleting the file and thereby getting rid of the new promotions, there is no easy fix (other than me providing a fixed version which is only an easy fix for you ;) ).

The promotions are written in a modular way, I guess I will have to work on that some more to make the base less modular than it right now is.
 
Ok, I decided to get rid of this at the root. Promotions now are not modular any more at all (well, at least not in Assets/XML, there still are some in Assets/Modules for the new unit classes, I will check those later - I hope they work or I will have to shift some more stuff around to have them non-modular but still keep all modules modular at the same time).

Here is the bugfix.

Okay, I'm a Steam user who just got BtS because of all the cool mods for BtS..and only BtS.

I like your mod since I love the RevolutionDCM mod but I hate how everyone looks the same. Truthfully, I wish Varietas Delectat worked with it but I have Diversica so I'm not complaining. But thats just it....I can't FARKING play Diversica. I can run Varietas and REvolutionDCM seperately, but when I try Diversica I get a runtime error. I don't know if its memory problem because it states that Civilization IV ended a command line in unapproved way and crashed. At first I couldn't load maps but with the bugfix I can't even get past loading the mod. It can't be a memory thing since I'm pretty sure Varietas Delectat might have more stuff (don't hold it against me, I'm new with Civ Mods).

I really want to play this but now I'm just getting pissed off.

Little side note, all your fileplanet links no longer work, even the more recent ones. I get a "file is unavailable" page and then get sent to the homepage.

i remember i downloaded this a while back and stopped playing because it would always crash early on =/
 
No idea, I have 64bit Win 7 ;)

If you had problems before, chances are you still will. But then the leaderheads and additional civs are optional, so not installing those should help you.

Alternatively, try Varietas Delectat, avain's latest release focused on bringing the requirements down and I have not incorporated his improvements yet.
 
File back online, weplayciv had removed it (maybe because it was an exe and their policy does not allow for this any more ?).

After days of trying to actually manage to upload to them and always dropping the connection, I now decided to upload to moddb instead.
 
This Mod needs a guid on how to get maps working for this mod, I finaly got the map to not crash to desktop loading the 50 civ DLL and now I find almost every city on the map did not load

anyone have a working 1864 map?
 
Well, here goes :

The DLL (RevDCM) supports 50 civs, so every map has to have 50 civs, regular maps don't.

For each missing civ, add a block like this

Numbering starts at 0, so in the end you should have numbers up to 49.

Next you do the same for the players

Finally, you have to update the barbarian units, replace all "UnitOwner=18" (for regular maps) with "UnitOwner=50".

That should be it. At least that is what I did for Carter's maps, but those don't have cities. Whatever you have to do is not really mod specific, you would have to do the same for any other mod with a 50 civs dll.

Well, if you want to fully update it to the mod, you also have to update the

FlagDecal= and ArtStyle= values, not changing them will work too, it just won't result the flags the mod usually uses and the diverse citystyles. To me having this in the map rather than the xml of the civ (where it already is defined anyway) is odd, but that is how they did it.
 
Hello guys,
I have a problem with Diversica. Yesterday I played a game of Diversica and was very happy with it. I saved and today I wanted to resume my game, but every time I try to load it, it crashes. I get this crash only with Diversica, I have no problem playing BtS without mods or with other mods. :(
Also, it loads very slowly, original BtS takes a few moments to start, while Diversica has to load for 1 or 2 minutes, which is very frustrating combined with fact, that I can't continue my last game.
BtS is patch 3.19.
Please help me, because I really like this mod.:rolleyes::(
